I had mine installed last year, its the Pen type with Voltage sensor and O2 Sensor.
I got mine at Auto Circuit. They specialize mainly in HONDA AEM but since that is where to find decent TTs thats where I purchased and had it installed. It is a good thing that our stock Code Alarms work really well with the APEXi TT.
As I told one our fellow Monty owners that PMd me about the TT, IMHO, dont penny pinch on the TT after all, it will be part of engine management already in the sens that it has the power to shut down your car. I would recommend stuff like APEXi, HKS, Greddy, PIVOT and the like. I know there are really cheaper ones out there made in taiwan or china going for 3k possibly even less no brands just Generic, but i just didnt feel safe putting some unknown that might fail while driving just because i pinched the extra 2k for a decent Jap made TT.
But then again, if you are fine with the generic brand thats fine, to each his own naman di ba? Ako lang naman just playing safe.
Btw, branded timers such as APEXi go for roughly 5k with install na. Pinaka mahal yata is HKS that goes for about 6-7K.
Let me know what you decide lang.
Good luck!

So does that totally void the engine's warranty? or just the turbo's warranty?

hi!!!
i'm planning on getting a montero sport 4x2 this march or april... i do hope i'd be inclining myself on getting this unit than its competitors. you guys could help me out on this too. :D
i just wanna ask everyone out there regarding your MS. lalo na yung suspension and the ride comfort itself. sabi kasi sa akin ng SA from mitsu, it has a much better ride than the fortuner or the everest. well syempre SA sya ng mitsu so expected nang sabihin nya yun hehehe. but i do hope this is true kasi i happen to like the ride of the fortuner and the everest. so much better kung mas maganda nga talaga ang ride ng montero.
also, coming from an isuzu owner (wala akong masabi sa durability ng isuzu), wala po bang problems regarding sa durability ng suspension ng mitsubishi? also the engine itself? kasi this would be my first time to venture on a mitsubishi vehicle.
hoping to be one of the proud owners of an MS (which i would call "teroy" :D).
thank you all!

Ntyce,
Yes, no settings changed, arm and walk away with all your doors locked and alarm armed. Thats the reason i opted for APEXi. There were a couple of friends of mine that have MS GLS and they had the Generic ones installed (no brand) and they went for 2.5k the problem is you cant arm and walk away since what happens is when you arm the doors will lock fine and the alarm will arm then the TT will take over, but once the engine dies the doors will unlock. Essentially, you will have to wait for the engine to die then arm which actually defeats the purpose of having a TT installed. Which is why i went branded. Our monty's harness can be wired to the APEXi TT so that you have your O2 sensor working on the TT(a plus).
No warranties Voided nothing of the sort.
I hope this helps. I will try my best to post pics next week.
