Ang effect nyan. malakas sa diesel. Bago ang makina kaya lang lumang transmission ang nilagay. Not like hyundai sta. fe at kia sorento na panay 5 speed A/T.

Correct me if I'm wrong pero sa tingin ko nasa makina ang ikalalakas ng consumption ng isang sasakyan and also the driving methods.

The transmission also plays a huge part, sir. Kung pareho ang makina ng 2 A/T cars pero 5-speed yung isa tapos 4-speed yung isa, siyempre mas matipid iyung 5-speed (to put it simply -- dapat mas maliit iyung 5th gear nung isa dun sa 4th nung 4-speed).

we have an MS and a Pajero....the 4 and 5 speed same 4m41 engine has a big difference in terms of driving and fuel consumption....just use the manual shifting and observe the rpm....

MS 4 speed shifting..
1st- 10kph
2nd-20kph
3rd-40kph
4th-55-60kph

pajero 5 speed shifting..
1st- 10kph
2nd- 20kph
3rd- 30kph
4th- 40kph
5th- 60kph

when you are able to shift to a higher gear with normal acceleration(under 2k rpm) you consume less fuel....malaking bagay talaga yung 5 speed.

Thanks for the great replies mga sir/madam! Di ko alam what conclusion i can get just by looking at the gear ratios but having more gears seems to be helpful.

With the new MS having 4 gears, (but with the same gear ratio as that of pajero's 5th gear) would it have difficulties in overtaking? Kasi, somewhere in this site i read something about AT's having problems overtaking...

The 178 km/h top speed stated on the brochure is not true, it can go faster..My cousins monty did 195 km/h in SCTEX

I did 180 km/h at 3500 rpm.. kaya pa!


I just hit 180 km/h going to 190 or even reach 200 but i slowed down coz there was a slow moving fortuner a few meters ahead of me that was about to occupy my lane
