Additoonal questions po..mura na po ba pagkakuha ko sa monty ko 2014 model glx at..1,203,500? yung tweeter housing may na ka provide na po bang wires para dun and ano klase tweeter ang swak sa pod? Yung tv tuner, pano po activate? Thanks! Btw, as regards dun sa previous question ko on how to dim the HU, workaround ko so far os tp press the clock tapos ma ddiaplay yung orasan with black background..

I got mine last 14 Feb 1.098M GLX MT and with the discount I installed VGT spoiler, backup camera/sensor, rain visor, leather seat cover, cabin air filter, tire cover, SD card & euro conduction plates

yup, eto ang bagong hot topic ngayon sa power mods, remapping ng ECU. bone stock na montero from 156hp to 217hp sa dyno...that's whooping 61hp increase! at 30k investment, so ang cost/benefit ratio bale nasa P491/hp (30k/61hp). kung titingnan, mura ng investment kesa tuning chip na 25k pero you get only say max of 20hp.

ECU, small computer box and the brain part of engine, which regulates the performance(HP/Torque) and fuel/air mixture.
it will not really affect the durability of the engine, rather the operational function...

kasi ang ECU, pwede po ito i-modify by means of computer....

pwede po ito i-degrade or upgrade, kung gusto taasan ang HP, or the Torque, or both, pwede rin ang fuel/air mixture.
and pwede rin i-adjust lahat...

still the durability still depends kung paano po dadalhin ng driver ang sasakyan.

kung normal driving, it will not affect the durability...
pero kung hard driving na ang usapan, dyan na po papasok ang wear and tear, and the durability limits.

Kung ang magdadala ng monty with remapped ecu, without the major modification to the engine system, kung pedal to metal ang gagawin at laging red-line sa RPM and push the engine to it's limits..

imo, whoever did the remapping, they are a reputable tuning shop. its their business to tune your car and harness its full potential. hindi naman nila i-tune ang makina mo to the extent na sasabog na kapag ginawa nila yan na mag-explode ang makina may business pa ba sila?;) they are experts and trained sa pag-tuning so alam nila threshold o safe limits ng engine mo. the moment na dalhin mo sasakyan mo like say your Montero, they already know hanggang saan lang kayang abutin ng makina mo.

regarding durability, i think kahit pa 500hp output makina mo kung di mo palaging pwersahin durable at tatagal yan. tendency kasi kapag malakas ang makina masarap humataw at typical ang aggressive driving so wear and tear mabilis din. pero kung normal driving ka pa rin at gamitin mo lang yung extra power during overtaking and once in a while Italian tuning hindi na masama...;)

Im seriously considering a 2014 GLX AT. Im going to test drive it tom. If all goes as planned I'll seal the deal this month.

I actually started to read all the post from page 1 but simply had to stop upon reaching page 22 of this thread. Information overload

I figured I dont need the added power of a GLS model since I seldom go out of town (which could change with this vehicle).. However I do want some of the features like the rear sensors and gps. With that in mind could someone give me an estimate of how much the ff will cost if I get it straight from the dealer. I dont want to void any kind of warranty:

1. back up sensor
2. back up camera
3. gps

Likewise

4. What tint can you recommend. I need something dark for security reasons but still very much visible from the inside I have poor eyesight without my glasses.

Lastly are I read some post about the ff. could someone answer this for me:

5. Does the driver seat have poor lumbar support - I have a really bad back.
6. I noticed some relatively new Montero's emitting black smoke.
7. Is the sudden acceleration thing a real concern ?

1 and 2 - no choice. sa casa lang magkabit para may warranty. although double ang price nila
3 - pm sir louie. he has sd card for gps for half price compared to casa or winterpine. no warranty issue yan kasi memory card lang yan

1 & 2, agree for Sir dct, pwede nyo po i-ask ang sales agent nyo kung pwede ito makuha as a freebie, kung hindi man, meron discount to install..
3. if ever na makasama sa 1&2 package and include ang SD card with a reasonable price, pwede...if not...pwede po kumuha outside....
4. ask nyo po yung sales agent to choose the tint, papakita naman po yung film sample ng tint sa inyo once na nakapag DP na po and reserved a unit....sa amin po, i choose the 2nd to the darkest..(forgot the code pero 3M tint)
5. seats are very comfortable....(during casa visit and same din po sa strada na na-drive ko dati [non-vgt])
6. Hard reality, madumi po talaga ang Diesel dito sa pinas, pero EGR blanking is considered, kung occasional usage lang, pwede din hindi.
7. I never believe in sudden acceleration, driver's responsibility lalo po kung automatic...
keen observation ko lang po, hindi ko po nilalahat ng matic driver, but some po sa mga gumagamit ng matic, during stop, napansin ko lang, hindi pinapasok sa N-eutral position, and uses only the hand-brake....to temporarily stop the vehicle.
and one of the reason kung bakit nangyayari ang sudden acceleration was the transmission left in D, and once the umusad ang sasakyan then sabayan ng rattle from the driver, instead na preno ang matapakan, accelerator ang natatapakan, and isa rin sa reason yung paglagay ng matting...sometimes sumasabit ang matting sa gas pedal and kailangan bago mag-drive, always check the matting.

for 300% assurance na walang sudden acceleration....kunin nyo po ang MT, dahil no reasons at all kung bakit mag-accelerate pa ang sasakyan....and kayo po mismo ang control and to avoid blame games..

Pang mabigatan yung ecu remapping guys. W/o other mods bonestock papalo ng 220 hp si monty. Too much sakin, hindi ko naman kelangan ng ganung kalakas na gain para pang overtake lang. Sakin satisfied nako sa tuning chip ko as of now, My future mods are fmic upgrade and rai may dagdag angas din pag binuksan yung hood.
