For those who have owned an Xpander, hirap po ba pag paahon o dadaan sa steep hill lalo na kung nakastop bago nakatakbo? kasi i saw a video na umatras yung xpander.

    and this one too..

Better buy 4x4 ppv and you cannot have it all

Yung sa putikan kailangan mo talaga dyan 4x4 tsaka A/T tires. Yung pulang xpander naman sa video, siguro may advantage dyan ang RWD lalo na pag fully loaded. Kaya pa nung xpander kaya lang walang grip.

I also wonder whenever there is a new vehicle, people keep asking “kung kaya ba nito umakyat sa baguio or tagaytay”

Most modern vehicles can climb baguio no doubt, depending on the driver’s skill.

ilan kaya ang sumagot ng, "hindi kaya, ser. kinakarga po yan sa trak at dinadala sa baguio."

another question oft asked is, "kaya ba ng mini car ang long trip papuntang prubinsya? mag-o-overheat ba siya?"

Most people that ask this ay mga baguhan talaga at wala pang alam sa kotse pero minsan may mga ignorante lang talaga. Best way to deal with it is to educate na lang kesa sagutin pa ng sarcasm.

As if these people will actually go to Baguio ...

Maybe these are people who get outdated advices from their old relatives ... kick the tyres ... shake when refueling ... warm up engine 5 minutes ... rev engine before turning off ...

I think what they actually mean is Kung hindi ba mahihirapan or enough ba power ng kotse na comfortably and efficiently makakaakyat sya. I'm sure you guys know these people don't actually believe hindi makakarating ang kotse sa baguio.

"i will not get it past them."
    ill-information knows no boundaries.

i already mentioned in these threads, some of my colleagues' hilariously ill-informed activities.

The driving technique is vital especially for a challenging uphill and downhill drive.

i let my AT do the decisions.
i just press the pedals with my right foot.
unless one is in racing mood, it usually works fine.

    I'm driving a 4-speed AT vehicle.

The handbrake is your best friend.

Generally, what I do, say entering Kennon Road (after the small toll house), is I disengage OD (overdrive), or for some vehicles without the OD button, they may want to engage to D3. This will lock the AT to 3 gears. When nearing the curve to the lion's head, I do switch to "2" especially if the vehicle in front is moving slow. You can return to D if you see that you can accelerate better but with OD still off.

Yung vios na nasa unahan ko umurong going up from Palm Ridge Talisay to Tgaytay, mas matirik sa Baguio ang kalsada. Hindi siguro praktisado bumwelo kaya nag alangan. I used 2nd gear goin up, loaded with 30 large kalamansi trees in the bed i bought from Tanauan. Iba talaga ang torque ng diesel.

Kamukha eto ng expander >< o yung similar smiley nyan

Oh these people asking for power from their cars when most are not even willing to rev their engines past 3k rpm.

Modern vehicles are good enough to traverse the paved roads in whatever region they are. If you want to go fast, then don’t expect too much from small displacement gas-fed NA engines specially if they are pushing heavier platforms like an MPV.
