August 3rd, 2006 12:49 PM #1What are your expeiences with this unit? Is it reliable? How about parts availability. Would you recommend this unit? Thanks for any input as am planning to get one for my wife.

i am assuming na 1st gen outlander right?
pros: ample room (i'm a fat 6'1" guy). fulltime AWD. ABS. dual airbags. leather seats. good stock sound system. looks (hehehehehe! shempre!). extra cargo room. simple dash layout (subjective kasi yan eh). extra ground clearance for floods, potholes. solid ride without being too jarry (but then again, i prefer a stiff ride, 33psi eh recommended lang eh 2 bars, or about 29psi).
cons: look for the 2.4L MIVEC one for extra zoom, the non-MIVEC one lacks zoom, although it was funloads enough for BRC . looks (subjective kasi eh). gas consumption (good boy city drive nets me about 6km/L). simple dash layout (subjective kasi yan eh). some understeer, although you'll only explore that on BRC-type runs.
additional comments (maybe pro/con): whip antenna makes it look like a radio-controlled toy car. roof rails methinks add considerable weight, a penalty when on trackdays.
i'll try to add some more later.
pero ako, i'd recommend it. :DLast edited by nugundam93; August 3rd, 2006 at 02:38 PM.

maganda naman talaga yan e kaya lang if you factor in the competition... lumalabas usually na you will be better off buying other cute-utes... pero kung talagang gusto mo maiba sa lahat ng crv at rav4 na nasa kalsada... then this is the way to go!

i wouldn't actually go as far as classifying it as a cute ute.
it's halfway between a station wagon and a compact SUV.
parts reliability? good! parts availability? hmmmm. ours is about 15T kms na since last year april, nothing major naman to replace, and i believe adequately stocked naman sa casa. anyway, consumables like sparkplugs, brake pads, oils, dami naman from other sources. :DLast edited by nugundam93; August 4th, 2006 at 12:05 AM.

we got ours april 2005, and about a few weeks later, i believe may onwards, mivec na sila. you'll see the mivec badge naman sa tailgate to differentiate it, as well as mivec markings when you open the hood.

Out na sa Japan at I think ilalabas na rin sa U.S. if its not already out. Maganda din ang reviews ng bagong Outlander...I read in an article that the new Outlander is outselling CRV and RAV4 in Japan. Ito kaya ang comeback ng Mitsubishi?

The previous Mitsu Outlander is way ahead pala of its competitors like the RAV4, CRV, and Xtrail, in terms of design. ngaun ko lang na-realize ito coz new American SUVs are following the car-like elevated design of the Outlander ...
before kasi hindi tayo maka-relate.
Puwede i try, 1. Palit air filter 2. Linis throttle body 3. Linis MAF sensor 4. Check spark...
high idle RPM at engine start
