2014 Montero Sport Gls-V, Pasay Makati Area, my fuel consumption has been like this since purchase, maximum 10 km/L on highway, can run around 400 kms on a 70 liter full tank. I have run out of ideas how to improve it, maybe there is something wrong with it. I've always thought that diesel was more efficient than gasoline, but my case says otherwise. SAD!

Tingin ko lang sir talagang magiging mataas yan kasi short distance palagi travel nyo mga 5km lang from pasay to makati, unless hindi traffic at you can travel at an average speed of 20-30km dun mo makikita na makakapag 8-9km/l ka. Currently average speed mo ata nasa 6km from pasay to makati travel time mo ata nasa 1hour

Normal ba to? Btw Strada GLS Sport AT pala auto ko. thanks

    ASX GLS SE

    6.82 km/L - pure city
9.70 km/L - highway but hataw (200 kph on SCTEX)

Both computed by full tank method. MID readings were 6.45 km/L and 8.77 km/L, respectively.

Panong full tank method? Kita dyan average speed.

Full the tank (automatic lang) then set trip meter to zero. Then on your next visit sa petrol station, full tank ka ulit (automatic ulit). Take note of the number of liters na nilagay. Take note of the reading on your trip meter. Divide kms on the trip meter by the number of liters of gas you put into the tank.

    1. Fill up your tank (automatic, not sagad)
    2. Record your odometer reading (and/or reset tripmeter)
    3. Travel
    4. Once you reach your destination, fill up again (automatic full tank again), take note of how many liters were filled up.
    5. Record your odometer reading then log the total km traveled
    6. Total km traveled divided by total liters equals your ACTUAL fuel consumption.

In your case, if you wanted an accurate figure for your FC, you should've filled up again in San Fernando, so you know how many liters of fuel you consumed for the total distance traveled. I'm pretty sure it's not 18.7 km/L.

One of my biggest pet peeves is people claiming really good FC figures, but basing it only on their car's MID only.

Guys, I am planning to buy a 2008 Mitsubishi Fuzion 2.4 GLS Sport. Do you have any idea of its fuel consumption? City and Highway? I believe it has the same engine as the Outlander?

    Thanks in advance!

Your city and highway mileage are just about right for a Strada.

Of course you can't stay at 2,000 rpm and expect to be traveling at 120 kph. When the road is empty and you feel like going faster, you really can't stick to just 2,000 rpm. If you can afford to buy a car, you can afford to pay for gas. The difference between consumption at 2,000 rpm and 2,500 rpm isn't all that big.

All that you've said are normal.
