I'm sure they did something to the brakes & suspension at least, knowing they installed a more powerful engine. May competent engineers naman ang MMPC.
Unfortunately on the safety aspect, currently we do not have any laws that require car makers to have a minimum number of safety features such as ABS, airbags, etc. Ang alam ko lang is yung seatbelt law and the euro4 emission requirement ng DENR. I guess yung ABS at Airbags nahihiya na lang yung iba kaya ginawang ng standard.

April 12th, 2019 08:23 AM #54Meron Crosswind 4JA1 commonrail version sa India, they call it Chevrolet Tavera BS iV. It has 30+ HP more than the standard injection pump. I guess compliant din sa euro 4/5. https://www.chevrolet.co.in/content/...4-28289189.pdf
Hindi nga ma phase-out yung jeep na no emission standards kaya possible parin yan sa pinas old design, old safety features. Dito ka lang makakita ng Elf/NHR na ginawang passenger cab yung body and its using drums on all its wheels! Etong L300 tuwing nakikita ko prang 80's parin. Nung baby pa ako merona design na ganito yung(versa van) mas luma pa yta sa E24 Urvan. Akalako 2020's dapat lumilipad na ang mga sasakyanLast edited by 12vdc; April 12th, 2019 at 08:26 AM.

April 12th, 2019 08:57 AM #55Has any car with drum brakes been equipped with ABS/EBD? Or do they at least need to have a pair of brakes be discs to have that equipped?
Because if that is needed, then maybe Mitsu can at least make the new L300 front disc, rear drum and have ABS/EBD as even an option to pick/add-on just like the rear aircon/fan being optional in the phased out model.
What was the price of the phased L300 FB Single AC and Dual AC priced at before it ceased production? I recall our 2005 L300FB (Single AC) had an SRP below 600k, if I'm remembering it right. I think the cab and chassis only sold for 530k back then.

April 12th, 2019 09:28 AM #56wala na yung link. so if yun dati turbo direct injection 4JA1 is 85hp so we could expect mga 115hp? torque? Interesting.. in my opinion this upgrade is okay for commercial use the L300 is known for. Safety na nga lang ang usapan.
yun unang L300 na van nakita ko sa pelikula sa Zuma or Anak ni Zuma ata yun. 1985? Sakay si Mark Gil hehe.

April 12th, 2019 10:17 AM #58Chevrolet Tavera Neo 3 review, test drive
| autos | Hindustan Times
Apparently it is a different 2.0 commonrail engine from Rover. This means that Isuzu (or at least Chevrolet) already has the R&D for installing a commonrail engine on the Crosswind. They just don't want to, for some reason.

April 12th, 2019 10:59 AM #59Wouldnt Isuzu have that down techwise though since they have in their line uo the 1.9L blue power diesel? Maybe detune it slightly for use in the crosswind or a newer version of it?
Not sure how Isuzu philippines will manufacture them. What else are they building/assembling here?
With no crosswind and no dmax, are they still assembling any cars in their local plant?
