OT: My old Lancer's 4AT died when I overheated. I don't know how the previous owner treated it din dahil I found an AT service sticker under the hood. Nung inalagaan ko with Mitsu ATF ok naman sya. Tumutulo of course pero malayo din inabot samin non

Alaga lang talaga dapat sa fluids. Wag tipirin

Edit: found this interesting PDF http://www.mosautolab.ru/uploads/AKPP/07_Variable.pdf

The Invecs III does not pull. It pushes. Very similar to Subaru's Lineartronic CVT. Nice.

So far in what I have heard, only ONE incident of a Lancer EX CVT having experienced early transmission failure. This was because the car's owner added a turbocharger (rated over 200hp I think) and raced the car often at the track.

Thanks for the info. I, myself, is having a hard time finding horror stories from Mitsu CVT be it here or abroad. I guess I just have to follow regular PMS and my CVT will serve me for a good long time.

sa MLPH may horror story na about CVT tranny... given its disposable nature.. a replacement of a new tranny.. based on the posts there are prohibitive.. since it is like buying a second hand car..

we owned a cedia before. binenta namin in less than 4 years kasi the tranny failed. out of nowhere i was driving it then suddenly kahit anong gawin ko it was like in neutral. kala tuloy nung mga nasa likod ko tatanga tanga ako magmaneho. sakto sa intersection pa ko nasiraan. since they didnt stop making cvt, siguro naimprove na nila yung technology nila. kaya for me, blessing na hindi cvt automatic ang 1.6 lancer ex models.

    Ayos! hahaha

    Nakabili na kami hahaha!

Anyway, so far so good. I'll be more religious with PMS on this one.

Congrats sir. IMHO basta alaga sa fluid at tamang flid ginagamit eh maganda naman ang service life niyan. Wala naman ako naririnig na prone siya sa problem eh or mga recalls.
