Highly plausible for launch within this year.

Here's an article pa nga from Philstar:
    http://www.philstar.com/philstar/NEWS200704180707.htm

"Mitsubishi Motors Philippines is contemplating importing cars from Taiwan in order to meet the demand for smaller, more fuel efficient cars."

"In an interview, Mitsubishi assistant vice president for marketing services Froilan G. Dytianquin said the Filipino consumer is now switching to smaller cars like the Honda Jazz, Toyota Yaris and Suzuki Swift."

"The Lancer sales are being affected by smaller cars," he explained. Because of this, he said, Mitsubishi is thinking of importing Colt from Taiwan. Although Dytianquin still do not know how much the Colt would retail for, he said the average price of Jazz, Yaris and Swift is P750,000.

After launching newer and more exciting powerhouse products like the New Pajero and New Outlander, I believe that MMPC is doing a right thing. Thus, they should continue this new offensive by launching this thing within this year (at sana hindi siya watered-down)

    Interesting note:

4G18 ang makina nitong Taiwan version ng Colt Plus (like in the Lancer ngayon)....compared to 4A91 engine ng Colt Plus sa Japan and export RHD markets.

Who can guess/predict kung ano ang fuel consumption ratings ng 4G18 na makina?

    For comparison:
    4A91 engine (1.5 liter displacement)
    105hp/6000 rpm
    141N-m(14.4kg-m)/4000rpm

Fuel consumption ratings (using Japan 10-15 mode):
    18.2 km/l for 2WD models
    17.6 km/l for 4WD models (pang Japan-lang ito)

One Taiwanese auto club site tested got the following FC figures:
15.2 km/l (the lowest figure they got)
    16.8 km/l (average fuel rating & for city &/or mixed-driving)
    19.5 km/l (ala fuel-economy run style)

With those in mind, does anyone have guesses or predictions
kung ano ang posibleng FC ratings ng Colt Plus na gamit ang 1.6L 4G18 na makina?

I agree and good news that it's coming within this year (2007)....pero sana hindi gagawin ng MMPC ang mga cost-cutting na sobrang bahagya.

I mean, just imagine kung tanggal ang airbags, steering wheel audio controls, power tailgate, color door handles (ginawang black), ABS, power windows, sunroof, 2-DIN Audio HU (ginawa na lamang na 1-DIN), traction control at pati na rin yung security alarm/immobilizer

It may or not happen pero sana huwag naman gawin ng MMPC iyon (if they want to make the most out of launching the Colt Plus here)

Thats because of the Colt Plus's additional 300mm longer rear overhang over the regular Colt makes it look bulky/fat.
Its sort of like subcompact hatchback/station wagon.
    Colt Plus

    Colt

*same 2500mm wheelbase, but with an additional 300mm of rear overhang to increase the cargo room. The regular Colt is about the same size as the Jazz.

Too bad the Colt Ralliart Version-R is RHD only.
There is also a Colt Plus Ralliart(same 154PS 1.5 turbo as the Colt version), its also RHD only.

So same size category as Jazz, Yaris, Swift but with a longer boot/rear-end?

I understand now (di pala siya kalaban ng Carens).

Whoa, may Ralliart version din pala ang Colt Plus sa Japan. Smoked tail lamps na siya (ala Mazda 3 two-liter).

Ey, since meron ng LHD platform ang Colt Plus, siguro people who want it here in RP can just beg from MMPC and Mitsubishi Taiwan to make a create that kind of performance version for the Colt Plus.

This is really getting interesting to watch by that minute.
