Gurus,
Tips naman on looking for a gen2 pajero blister fender 4x4?
Besides the usual low mileage. Please advice me what to look for when inspecting a 2nd hand car.
Thanks

Sa mga ganyang kabatang sasakyan, you pretty much don't have to look for anything. Siguro check for signs of abuse and crash damage.
Yung Pajero ko may signs of crash repair to the front and left side pero ok naman ang restoration.

Hehehe.

Sir OTEP,
Advice lang, may natanong ako 2001 Pajero 4x2 22,000kms. mga 1.040 asking
Also 1999 Pajero 4x4 48,000 980,000.
What do you think? Both are AT kasi tamad ako magshift during traffic. My wife says go for the 2001, pero di ba 4x2 lang?
Advice and suggestions please:oops:
go for the 4x4, u won't regret it. i'm sure it will have a higher resale value 3 to 4 years down the road......
When looking at second hand cars, always have it brought up on a lift to check the underchassis for leaks and worn suspension bits. You'll see a lot of stuff that you may miss if you just checked it on the ground.
Look for the service booklet. Usually the ones with their mileage rolled back have them missing while the other booklets (manual, stereo, alarm, etc) are still there.
Check the tires. If the mileage is still pretty low for the tires to be changed but they were changed then that is another sign (our Pajero tires lasted till around 50K before they were changed).
When you decide on your car of choice, have all the fluids/oils changed (tranny, PS, and coolant). This is just to give you some peace of mind... especially if its the A/T fluid... if the repair peeps say that its still OK, just tell them to shut up and change it (i already experienced that before, i took the SA's word and a few months later our automatic tranny gave way).
go for the 4x4 tama si kcboy after ilang years mas mataas pa resale nyan,la namang masyadoong difference ang 99 sa 2001 radio lang ata
kc boy, jay crew, pajerokid: Thanks for your suggestions, therefore is it safe to say na maski high mileage na yun 4x4 pajero and older by two years, mas tataas pa rin resale after ilan years? Sabagay 4x4 nga sya:lol:
Parang natypan lang nga ni misis yun 4x2 kasi mas sariwa.
Vinj, Thanks for the tips:D kaso parang mahirap yata pa lift yun car when checking kasi parang ayaw ata ng owner:wink:
4x4 na. Maluluma din iyang 4X2. Ang 4X4 kapag naluma enjoy ka pa rin kasi pwedeng gamitin off-road. Yung 4X2 wala nang ibang pwedeng gawin. Parang overpriced AUV na lang siya (lecheng tax laws talaga). And very rare bird ang 4X4 na blister. Have pride in owning one.
crawdaddy,
Hard Tarmac ata or something. Basta pang-kalye siya.

don't worry abt the mileage, diesel engines has double the life of a gas engine so pag sawa ka na, gamitin mo nalang 4x4, like me, porma then nung sawa, sounds and now offroad.u enjoy ur vehicle in all aspects...
OTEP/KCBOY:
Thanks for your advice, 4x4 it is!!!
Check ko lang nga baka nabenta na:mrgreen:
I'd also go for the 4x4 BTW due to the same reasons that the others have mentioned.
If the owner/seller is hesitant on having it lifted, he might be hiding something... If ever you see somthing wrong (small leaks, worn, suspension bits, etc), this can be a point for more "tawad" on your side. This will also give you an idea on how much you might be spending additional for other costs. Being a second hand car, expect some small repairs here and there just to be sure.
