February 16th, 2012 11:10 PM #2well, i have heard advise along the lines of... "..replace all fluids, belts and timing belt..., inspect bearings, this and that..", but i guess it all depends on how you feel the previous owner treated the car. in my case, i thought the previous owner babied her car that i bought. all i did was get in and drive away.. yes, i had one wheel aligned, and had one door's power lock replaced with a surplus unit.. things the owner mentioned.. almost 2Km na and still no problems.. i feared at the back of my head that the car went swimming 2 years ago, but so far, everytime i removed a cover and peeked into the innards, everything looked good..
perhaps if you can take a peek at the casa's record on the car, you will get an idea of what else is needed to be done. i refer to the casa's maintenance schedule.

check your odometer because the life span of the timing belt is 70,000 kms.
for your reference * EL DORADO aurora blvd. ( OEM PARTS )
timing belt P1,750.00
tensioner 800.00
camshaft seal 300.00
crankshaft seal 350.00
replace mo na rin ang water pump para isang babaan na lang, GMB brand costs more or less P700.
labor nito nasa more or less P1.2k
others:
-inspect mo rin ang mga rubber boots baka punit na lalu na sa cv joints, axle and steering rack, have it replaced and repack na rin ng axle grease sa mga cv joint bearings, axle bearings at steering rack.
-belts ng aircon & power steering (bando brand is highly recommended, nasa P350 each nito)
- clean & repack of wheel bearings
- clean & check the front and rear brake pads, adjust parking brake.
- replenish your gear oil.
- check for engine leaks and water leaks sa flooring and trunk.
