Read your manual ... There is a process to turn off the re-circulation permanently ... Was able to do this before ...

Also you can turn on the aircon using the Auto Fan switch and not the Auto climate control switch ...

Thanks Walter, I did read and follow the instructions carefully, and tried it several times but the result is still the same. Nevertheless thanks again for the reminder.

Your last resort would be to close the re-circulation vent physically and permanently ... This is what they do to European cars that are here ...

Thanks for the suggestion Walter, but I'm okay with using the A/C on manual mode. Actually, what I've encountered is after I have set the RECIRC BUTTON to stay ON PERMANENTLY based on the instructions on the user's manual...hehehe...There are times that when my son was the one turning on the A/C using the AUTO, the RECIRC Button actually is ON, but after sometime it automatically turns off. That's the reason why I said that using the AUTO will still turn off the RECIRC button, well again that is in my case.

Got my new 2018 Montero Sports Premium (Code V22) from Otis (P1.824)

Here are the features I notice that were taken out from the 2017 Montero Sports Premium
    1. TPMS
    2.. Spare Tire Cover
    3. Variant Emblem

    Updates for 2018 model both V22 (P1.824) and F17 (P1.849) Code:
    1. Two Tone Wheels same as the GT except for Tires.
    2. Leather cushion cover in the center console
    3. Vanity Mirror Lights both Driver and Passenger
    4. Power Inverter both inside the center console and back for 2nd row passengers (120Watts)
    5. You have to go to Winterpine to setup the Mirror function of your HU.

    Aside from the Leather Seats below are some of features that were overlooked or are not being mentioned at all during sales conversation;
    1. Immobilizer (Anti-Theft)
    2. Alarm
    3. Pedestrian Warning Alert (I don't even know this exist for Montero Premium nor where is the sensor located, This maybe available in all variants)
    4. Rear Fog light activation (only 1 side - Driver)
    5. 6 Airbags (Driver/Passenger/Side Airbags/Curtain Airbags extending to 3rd row seats (NO Knee Airbags). 7 Airbags is for GT variant only.

Please add other features that you notice were not mentioned.

same experience. After setting it ON permanently, and then using auto climate, it will sometimes turn off recirculation. I'll notice it's off pag may naamoy ko parang galing labas kaya di na ko nagamit ng auto climate control, manual na lang

I also find AUTO CLIMATE feature strange for montero.
Logically, once you push AUTO assuming the aircon is OFF. Aircon will engage and recirculation should steadily turn ON even without pressing the recirculation button.

For montero after you Press AUTO, as you said reCirculation will turn OFF and vice versa.

Unless you press the fan speed or press the the temp adjustment button on the passenger side then thats the time it will turnOFF but recirculation would still remain ON

I've had a 07 rav which has Auto climate control (yes more than 10 years ago technology na sya) and never had the same weird processes which I assume will have the same for other car makers especially the highend ones with this feature.

In a good note, that make our Montero Distinctively Unique. Hahaha

This little details are not being exploited during sales.

Did you already set the air recirc to always ON per manual? Long press on the air recirc button while the AC is off?

Try what GLSTrend did. A bit long press of air recir then you hear 2 beep. Then you can ON in Auto switch while air recir will not off.

I am actually having similar issue with my WILDTRAK, I have to turn on the A/C using the RECIRC BUTTON for it to stay on permanently. This time I was too lazy to read the manual, so I ended up asking on the FB RANGER GROUP and the only solution that they have suggested is to turn on the A/C using the RECIRC BUTTON which what I am doing until now....hehehe.

If it's in full auto mode, I think the system will adjust based on inside ambient temp. If it deems it doesn't need to turn aircon to achieve target temp, it will just use fan. True in the case when you initially start your vehicle early in the morning. (malamig na yung loob ng kotse beforehand)

Imagine kung nasa Baguio ka and ang ambient temp is already at 20 deg Celsius tapos ang nilagay mo na target temp ay 24 deg Celsius. Then the system will sense that it's already cold inside the cabin and will just turn on the fan instead of the AC.

Ang problema na lang ay yung recirc mode. Sa ibang bansa kasi, default mode off yun to introduce fresh air sa loob ng sasakyan. Eh dito sa atin, usok lang papasok.

Yes i think thats the way it’s programmed. If naka auto mode, the system probabaly needs outside air sometimes kaya nawawala recirculation mode

Noticed this also sa cruze ko... pag naka full auto if na luha na desired temp makukuha mo din ang amoy sa labas kasi automatic disable ang recirculate...
