A continuously variable transmission (CVT) is a transmission that can change steplessly through an infinite number of effective gear ratios between maximum and minimum values. This contrasts with other mechanical transmissions that offer a fixed number of gear ratios. The flexibility of a CVT allows the driving shaft to maintain a constant angular velocity over a range of output velocities.

CVT can provide better fuel economy than other transmissions by enabling the engine to run at its most efficient revolutions per minute (RPM) for a range of vehicle speeds. It can also be used to build kinetic energy recovery system.

Alternatively it can be used to maximize the performance of a vehicle by allowing the engine to turn at the RPM at which it produces peak power. This is typically higher than the RPM that achieves peak efficiency. Finally, a CVT does not strictly require the presence of a clutch, allowing the dismissal thereof. In some vehicles though (e.g. motorcycles), a centrifugal clutch is nevertheless added,[1] however this is only to provide a "neutral" stance on a motorcycle (useful when idling, or manually reversing into a parking space).

sure ba yung SA mo? Better wait na lang muna ng picture ng glx variant para mas sure. Yung sabi rin kc ng SA ko all power daw. iba iba ang sinasabi nila. Wahhhhhhh

sir sana po...all power locks ang windows...ksi parang medyo funny naman un na 2 doors out of 5 doors ang power locks and windows....sana po hoping ksi malaking bagay din ung almost 100T na difference ng CVT GLX and GLS....

I really want an automatic tranx and then all power locks... thanks po

sana po me makakapag confirm.....nung nagpunta ksi kame kanina sa citimotors makati 15 mins n lang pinullput na ung GLS ksi ililipat daw sa ibang Citimotors...

relax, lets just wait & see, i reserved GLX-CVT too, honestly i was tempted to upgrade to GLS-CVT, but considering the ramification (no good GPS maps, flimsy push button start, EXPENSIVE auto climate control repair) im sticking with my original choice

Ito din reason ko for downgrading to glx, also the bigger wheels and abs+ edc din sana gusto ko, pero naisip ko for a city car, i would rarely really need it.

un din po ang sa akin GLX-CVT ksi parang bang for the buck na po sya ksi ung top of the gls-cvt masyado ng mahal....ang gusto ko po talaga is ung automatic tranmission that is why I want the GLX-CVT....

paano nyo nalaman na no good GPS maps and marupok o mahina ang push button start ng mirage? may reported problem na ba nito sa ibang bansa?

according to the initial dealer specs sheet of Mirage GLX has a FRONT power windows only and NOT equipped with power locks.
so far the initial specs doesn't change as compared to what is being display right now in the showroom as far as I know.

You may be right, sabi lng ng SA sa akin yun nung tinanong ko kung may pambukas ng trunk from the driver seat for GLX. Hassle kasi ung aalis pa ng susi sa ignition. But we all know SA's are.

actually meron na yata nag bago dyan yung door handle at window ng glx hindi black same with body color na at yung gls naman hindi na two tone black and white yung interior based sa mga previous pics. So may chance na nag bago yung initial specs.
