sir, so it just confirms na inuubos na nila existing models?
Just spoke with Mitsubishi agent kahapon. Sa 2012 model for 4x2, paddle shifter, aircond, HID light un lang. for 4x4 naman mei back up camera na
New member and new GLS-V owner here. Nakuha ko lang last Aug 4...Ayoko naman sana maging olats pero the yesterday nung nabasa ko ung thread na to..hinde ako nakatulog..If this is true the ouch!
I would have lived with no paddle shifters kc mas masaya pa rin nka hawak sa kambyo then push and pull. Pero kung leather seats and kung tutoo na may M/T 4x2 na VGT sa GLX or 5 A/T na ung GLS-V then big loss tlga...Inofferan pa ako ng SA to get a leather seats for 40k pero I declined.
As far as the AC is concerned, no probs naman with the 2nd row since na compensate ng 3rd row AC ung loob.
Is this a new gen na completely new look or interior upgrades lang?
Sir, nothing is official as of yet. But the sales agents are one in saying that there will be a minor update. Nothing fancy. Anyway you bought a montero and it's brand new, enjoy your ride!
agree!
at the end of the day, kung maligaya ka sa unit mo, then okay na yan. there will always be something new.
According to him..sure daw meron lalabas pero Oct - Nov at tlgang minor lang sa GLS-V(i.e. lipat ung 3rd row Aircon to the 2nd and paddle shifters and tataas din ung presyo). Dun daw sha sure pero sa mga M/T versions wala rin sha alam..but like everyone said nothing is official.
I have a feeling that it will just be a minor change, not a complete facelift nor a complete upgrade.
Be contented with what you have right now. Car makers constantly improved on their vehicles every year. Just enjoy your current Monty right now.
P.S.
Ito ang natsismis sa akin ng SA ko nung Thursday, drum-in-disc rear brakes na raw GLS-V, at baka gawing VGT na rin mga M/T ng both Montero Sport at Strada within the year.
my guess? if mitsubishi plays their cards right, they can even make an all-new fortuner look bad.
I'm guessing a couple more models down the road, the 3.2 D-iD engine makes a comeback, this time with the VGT. That's good enough for 200+ hp and 450+ torque if I'm not mistaken. Add in the 5 speed tranny, and some ralliart goodies, then it's all set. It's pretty much about brand positioning right now. With those numbers, the new monty can pull a boat with ease.
At this point, we'll be begging for more roads to be built.![]()
The only thing missing with the MS and the Strada is the MASTC or Mitsubishi Active Stability/Traction Control. Hope this safety feature will be included in the Philippine models. The Pajero has it as standard safety feature. The ASX has it in their 4X4 model. The Australian Challenger & Triton are equipped with it. Not sure if the new Fortuner for the Philippines has the VSC vehicle stability control but their Thai website indicates it is VSC equipped. This is a challenge for MMPC and other brands that market SUVs and pickups in our country.
MASTC is a much needed feature especially if you take long drives across the country. Our highways are much of winding than straight. Cruise control is not much of use. Please check this link showing empirical evidence why MATSC, VSC. ESP. etc are crucial to vehicle driving safety.

Im a big mitsubishi fan here but I may opt for the new 200hp Ford Ranger/Everest if ESP equipped over the Strada/MS without MASTC.
