May nakaexperience na po ba mag gas sa caltex? Nanotice ko parang lumakas tunog ng makina after ko magpacrudo sa caltex, did anyone here experience this? Tapos parang humina yung hatak lalo na sa overtaking.. Dati kasi pag nag tiptoe ako e arangkada agad. Di ko lang sure kung dahil sa change oil kasi after ko nagchange oil, nagshift ako to caltex. Sa akin sa Petron Max ko na-experience yan, umingay ang makina, then unti unti humina ang arangkada, after 3 months pinalitan ng casa yung SCV at nilinis yung EGR. One bad load of fuel lang kahit haluan mopa ng V-power or Turbo P long time ang effect.

Advise ko sa iyo dalhin mona sa casa at ipa check SCV at EGR.

guys.. may nagpakabit napo ba saatin ng headrest monitors?
madami po ako nakita sa banawe 4.5k lang per pair including install.. kayalang... hindi po sure mga sellers kung ano po makikita sa monitor while driving?

gusto ko po kasi sana isa lang yung master lcd yung sa harap.. kung ano nakikita ng harap yun din makikita ng likod

like if operating radio/gps/movies same lahat ang lcd out...

It would certainly look nice but I don't want to lose it's off-road capability so I'm planning on limiting the change to one of those shiny 20" rims. Malaki ba magiging difference sa ride nung Monty ko kung 20"rims with 275/50/520 tire? Meron iba nagpapachrome na lang ng stock rims. Baka naman kasi malaki difference sa ride quality using larger diameters? Isa pa, yun bang TPMS sensor ba eh maililipat din sa new rims? I would appreciate getting feedbacks from any of you who has experience changing their wheels.

sir, if you are planning on going to 24" medyo ramdam mo na nga yung road because of the low sidewall. you can ask sir zix, naka 28" yan (astig!). but sa 20" okay naman yun ride, actually am also on 20" kasi. then regarding sa TPMS, as long as yung rims na pipiliin mo has the slot for such, no problem ka dun sir...

For as long as your wheel's valve stem mounting looks like this,Â*



you can have your oem sensor on your new wheels.

But if the valve stem will be mounted in this manner,



our oem sensor wont fit.

Yung 28" naman talagang for show lang, parang walang goma when you drive them, ramdam mo lahat ng makikita mo sa road.Â*

I started at 24"s, daily driven din for more than 2years. North(manaog) to south(batangas/tagaytay) naman even with 7pax and bagahe eh walang problema. But medyo bumpy na din.Â*

If you really want to put on 24s, here is what you need,
Offset not less thanÂ*+30mm, if you can getÂ*+35-38mm much better. With these offsets plus 305 35 24 tires , perfect fit, no rubbing and splashing.Â*

Just to give you an idea on how offset works(because usually what we have here in the local shops areÂ*+15mm offsets), we mounted my old 24s Â*+15mm offset 305 35 24 tires from my pajero fm to 2010 montero gls, we had to cut some parts of the mudguard just to be able to fit.Â*

Plus mayroon pang bonus na ganito



So stay away from offsets lower thanÂ*+30mm

Not on a Montero Sport but in another car (Crosswind and MB100). Yes, whatever is playing on the main unit (TV/DVD/FM), yun din ang lalabas sa ibang monitors. As long as the head unit has a video out.

What I don't like about the aftermarket headrests is ang luwag ng tilt adjustment. It won't hold in the 'yuko' position very well. Yun pa naman ang ideal for whiplash protection and for the rear passengers to view the screen. hehe.

If you want to be sure, the shop can test it naman. If they are too lazy to do so, try going to another shop. Testing it is not terribly difficult. Just need to pull out the stock head unit.

Thank you for the very informative pictures and insights :-) . I'll probabaly stay with the 20"s with 30+ offset. The Dropstars DS03 or VCT Romano from Concept One looks right. I will just have to check the offset. By the way , the PCD of our Monty is 139.7 right? The VCT Romano is 139 exactly. Do you think it would still fit wheel hub/studs?

Thank you for the input. Maybe 20"s would be best for me. Any noticeable change in the (km/L) after switching to 20"? When I upsized my Civic's 16" OEM rims to 18" I noticed an ave of 1 Km /L decrease in my readings after the change. I am guessing I can expect the same.

Yup its 6x139.7mm or 6x5.5" when buying abroad. Dont worry sir, when they say 139, its just a short cut for 139.7, same fit lang yan

sir zix... totoo bang yung battery ng tpms ubos na.. tapos na yan? i know master kayo ng diy and galit kayo sa.. battery kaya ask ko nadin... 9 yrs napo kasi fm namin.. and sabi samin ng winterpine.. nasa 6 yrs lang buhay niyan... kaya iniisip ko.. masisira na amin anytime soon.. hehe

thank you doc otep... i think idelay ko muna headrest lcd ko.. ang totoo.. napakaselan ko sa sasakyan.. kaya pag may kinakabit na accesories minsan pinagaaralan ko nalang to do it my self.. primary purpose ko is hindi naman po yung tipid(minsan kasi natatakot din ako mali saksak.. sira lahat.. hehe hindi tipid yun) but rather.. dahil sa selan ko... minsan ayaw ko pabaklas sa technicians stuff ko sa sasakyan.. naiinis ako na minsan bara bara trabaho.. and once nadent nila plastic nabali nila... sorry nalang sasabihin nila... medyo naiinis kasi ako sa sobrang tornilyo na madalas ko napapansin sa trabaho nila and yun nga.. hindi nila iniingatan mga edges ng plastic.. napansin ko tusok nalang sila ng tusok ng flathead screw driver... sana takpan nila ng basahan para walang marks.. hehe

Swerte mo na sir na umabot ng ganyan katagal yan. Ang ic niyan after mafully dead battery, busted na, so i strongly suggest na bago tuluyan na maubusan ng battery eh palitan mo na. But take note na at all times dapat may supply siya, meaning, before ka magtanggal ng old battery, make sure na may naka parallel na new battery, kasi if not and mawalan ng supply yan, busted ic ka na. Madali lang naman, yung battery hanap ka lang ng ka size, hirap maghanap nung exact model eh

sir yung video playback mo lang from the disc, iPAD, iTouch and iPhone can be seen sa headrest monitors. video playback from the usb, limited so far sa ngayon sa main LCD. yun ibang screens like radio, gps and the like hindi sya kita sa headrest LCDs. You can do open the HU and get the LCD out directly though...

yup oem FM sensors, pretty much the same with the oem monty sensors. actually sealed type din siya, binuksan ko lang to check. found out na when battery is drained, ic busted thru my spare tire sensor

2) pry sensor open
madali lang po ito sir? small screw driver?

3) replace battery
how do i do this po sir?
should i solder the new batteries parallel? then cut the old ones loose?

4) reinstall sensors..

hindi kasi sure yung... shop kung... ang makikita is movies only or anything na makita ko.. hehe anyways.. hindi ko nalang muna galawin.. unahin ko nalang po muna replacing ng battery ng tire sensors.. mukhangyun kasi pag nasira.. sayang.. hehe

Mga sirs, may nakapagpalit na ba ng K&N drop in filter sa inyo para sa monty 2012? anu part number ng filter kasi pag sini search ko sa k&n website ibang mga montero model ang lumalabas e. May nakita ako here in las pinas sa staging lanes in shell perpetual nasa 5.8k ang benta. Mahal ba yun? D kaya ma void warranty kung sakali palitan ko yung filter para na rin sana less maintenance in the long run.

And also i found in concorde sm southmall some mitsuba horns. Medyo pricey lang kasi japan made. Cheapest nila is nasa 3.2k. Sabi nung installer kabit lang daw walang splice sa wirings kasi tatanggalin yung oem horn tapos salpak lang bale magkakabit lang daw ng ground wiring sa body. 12 volts nga pala yung busina so i assume kahit walang relay ok na? Eto po yung model ng mitsuba nasa red box cya e. Wala lang po ako makita na pics sa net. MBW-2E11B
