Newbie here, Just bought my Strada GLX 2012 last week, bday gift for myself :-).

Been reading this thread before I bought the unit and it really help me a lot specially what to check when they release the unit to me.

EGR cleaning resolved the problem.
cost me 4.1K sa casa.
every 10k kms daw linis dapat ng EGR.
May alternative shop ba para ipagawa yung ganito? too expensive yung 4K every 10k km.
Or baka pede diy ito?

Sa shop ni sir Arvin C. tumatanggap ng EGR cleaning... PM mo na lang.. Me mga nasampolan na sya.. Andon sa FB.. Kaso parang nawawala yong group sa FB...

Php 739.20 lang ang EGR cleaning. This is according to Mitsubishi Ozamis (Fast Autoworld Phils. Corp. - Ozamis) manager. Kaya yan linisin ng mechanic outside the casa. Pero kailangan mo siya i-instruct kung ano tatanggalin at linisin (research nalang sa net like Triton.net). Php 300 lang yan.

Sa receipt nakalgay na pati intake manifold nilinis.
Baka meron may pics ng howto. Or kung alen part yung lilinisin..

Then naimbestigahan ko siya try ko patayin yung aircon when this happens and all of a sudden its back to normal engine response, i tried it for 2-3 times and still same effect. Tanong ko lang po kung may epekto kaya yung aircon sa issue na to? And PLEEEEASE, tell me what is EGR and SCV? im sorry pero wala po akong idea kung ano yun. I also change my iol, air and fuel filters, oil change, but still after a week nageexist pa din yung no response ng engine. If someone could insert an image of egr or scv much better po..

I hope someone could help us out of this problem before namin ipadala sa casa which may be costly.

I'm no expert but hindi kaya naka tsamba ka nang dirty fuel? na experience ko na before yan. I don/t think the aircon has anything to do with the engine stalling. About sa 3rd gear naman I had a broken 1st, 3rd and reverse gear before but hindi naman nag stall yung engine. But still your best bet is to bring your rig to a casa/serviek for OBD checks.

note: this is taken from a 4m41(non-vgt) engine but for presentation purpose only, it is almost the same as the 4d56 engine.
EGR-The exhaust gas recirculation (EGR) system lowers the nitrogen oxide (NOx) emission level.
When the air/fuel mixture combustion temperature is high, a large quantity of nitrogen oxides (NOx) is generated in the combustion chamber. Therefore, this system recirculates part of emission gas from the exhaust port of the cylinder head to the combustion chamber through the intake manifold to decrease the air/fuel mixture combustion temperature, resulting in reduction of NOx. The EGR flow rate is controlled by the EGR valve so as not to decrease the driveability.

I thought it is a difficult job to clean EGR but after watching the mechanic do the job, I said to myself not big a big deal so last week with the following gears ( close wrench I think nbr.12, small bronze brass,kerosine & rugs) . After removing the plastic cover,"buela" easy job. Be sure not to mesh with the SCV (its like plastic casing attached at the end of the pipe) I am not a mechanic, mahilig lang mag kutingting, yun nga lang you have spent time cleaning your finger nails dahil sa carbon, oil & other ****. You can do the task Bro, no sweat.

Dont worry you can do it , you will have a clearer view once you remove the plastic cover, ako uwedo lang ang guide ko.

Good evening.
Ask ko lang po sa mga Strada owners kung posible ba na ang fixed rear window nito ay mapalitan ng window na nabubuksan na , kagaya ng nasa Top of the Line model. Ito kasi ang isa sa mga features na nagustuhan ko sa mga pick ups eh.

Yesterday na experience ko nanaman mildly yung stallling...
From 2nd gear then shift to 3rd gear ayaw nanaman humatak...
I was at SLEX.
Nag neutral lang ako, release accelerator....then tried again tpos ok na....
twice ko na experience...

SCV na kaya ito talaga?
Ill try to use turbodiesel baka sakali mag improve..

hay!...i have other diesel vehicles...nkaka disapoint lng kasi sa mas bago ko pa na sasakyan nararanasan yung ganito....

I'd like also to do this but I've read on other sites na mixed yung results nila kaya medyo nag alanganin din ako. Some went 30-60,000k's without any CEL's yung iban naman 1000k pa lang after installing nag limp mode na. I'm guessing some owners here did this mod already so let's just wait for other inputs. But for me I'd rather clean my egr myself or have my casa do it.

I will be a new owner of a 2011 Strada GLX and plan ko po bumili ng 20" mags. Since end May pa po yung dating ng car ko, ano po tingin niyo sa 275/50R20 na gulong? Di ko kasi ma estimate kung lagpas na ba to sa fenders e. Gusto ko sana yung sakto lang na hindi nakalabas yung gulong. May nakita din po ako na 265/50R20 and 265/60R20 pero laking mahal po kesa sa 275. Di po ako bibili ng fender flares. Thanks in advance po para makapag reserve na ako para pag dating ng car ko pwede na siya lagyan ng new shoes

Depende sa wheels/rims na gagamitin mo. Kung 20x8 wheels, dapat +20 to +25 offset. Kung 20x9 wheels, dapat +10 to +12 offset. Le-level yan sa walang fender flares.
