U.S. man gets 120 years for ***ually abusing kids in PH

KANSAS CITY, Missouri -- Federal prosecutors in Kansas City say a 71-year-old *** offender has been sentenced to 120 years in prison for ***ually abusing children in the Philippines.

The U.S. Attorney's office said in a release that , a U.S. citizen who lived in the Philippines, was sentenced Tuesday, August 4 to 120 years in prison without parole.

Stokes pleaded guilty in January to five counts of engaging in illicit ***ual conduct in foreign places. He's been in custody since he was deported back to the U.S. after his arrest in the Philippines in 2012.

Court documents show he was charged after an investigation that began when an undercover agent in Springfield found an online ad from Stokes.

The office says Stokes has a previous conviction for raping a 7-year-old girl in Washington state.

for example: somebody filed a complaint for malicious mischief against you with the prosecutor's office, and, for one reason or another, you failed to file your counter-affidavit; and because of your failure to file said counter-affidavit, the investigating prosecutor found probable cause and recommended for the filing of criminal information for malicious mischief against you in court; upon filing of the information in court, the judge shall determine probable cause for purposes of issuing the warrant of arrest. the moment the judge finds that probable cause, he shall issue the warrant for your arrest so that the court can acquire jurisdiction over your person. the issuance of such warrant shall be communicated to the nbi.

2) yes, you need a lawyer.
- petition for adoption is not a difficult or complicated process. most of the time it's non-adversarial (walang kalaban) except that the fiscal or prosecutor will appear in behalf of the state.
- you shop for a lawyer. ask a friend. you haggle. mabuti iyung isang bayad lang (acceptance and appearance fees) pero huwag ibayad lahat. for example, 30k yung napagkasunduan, i-3 gives. first payment- 10k nung nagkasundo na kayo ni lawyer. pag na file na- another 10k. kung tapos na yung kaso last payment of 10k. always ask for receipt. yung mga baguhan basta huwag lang tanga di yun masyadong mahal.
- ang filing fee nyan sa korte nasa 3k to 5k.
