I remember watching King Kong dati sa imax na concave screen and we are in front, kailangan talaga lumingon para makita mo nangyayari sa kaliwa at kanan. We didn't enjoy it, masakit sa ulo.

Talking about our cinema experiences, the shared experience with the audience was the ones I always remember.

Some of the movies and highlights (kung saan napatayo o napapalakpak mga manonood) that stood out for me where:

    - Karate Kid: that last kick ni Ralph Macchio
    - Back To The Future: marami.

At least for me I'm not much into convenience but the big screen experience - the closest I can get away with.

star trek, the motion picture. 1979. this was 10 years after the series was canceled.
    rizal theater in makati.
first time i witnessed an audience clapping gleefully, when the main character first appears on the screen.
    spock.

    btw,
    lagaristas?
those men in racing bicycles, pedaling across the metro, bearing film reels, were commonplace in the 70s.
the showing schedules of two moviehouses were skillfully timed, such that one complete set of reels could service two moviehouses.

nung 1980s lagi kami sa new frontier every sunday. I think the place to be is araneta center kasi hindi pa sikat mga malls. We fiesta carnival, coney island, maxs, savory, cindys. We always last full show.

My favorite before pandemic eh yung midnight screening pag weekend. Matatapos movie around 2am.
