Do you still hold some superstitious beliefs (even how minor)?

Do you always make it a rule to get up from the "correct" side of the bed? Do you avoid black cats that cross your path? Do you avoid certain numbers like 4 or 13? Do you keep a "good luck" charm? Do you knock on wood for luck? etc...

Tell us about your beliefs.

I have a few but it's not really a "rule" ... more like a "dislike"...

example:
-number 13
-friday and 13th day of the month
-prefer more to get up from a particular side of the bed
-likes to keep good luck item.

yes, dahil na rin siguro sa may chinese blood ako at sometimes, i practice some superstitions especially chinese new year. general rule ko during that day, walang magwawalis ng bahay o opisina dahil ang swerte pwede mo mawalis palabas. i also practice the sunrise reference, kung saan maganda ipwesto ang bukasan ng pinto o saan maganda nakaharap ang pinto. friday the 13th, minsan lang pero hindi rin ako masyado naniniwala. pero pagdating sa panliligaw, medyo superstitious ako and somehow eh effective naman, like i relate something to an event or ganito ganyan.

Friday the 13th is Ok as long it is PAYDAY so TGIF pa rin...

I don't believe in superstitions kasi we are undermining the Power of the Creator, IMO.

I once saw a priest with a car with license plate digits ending in "666".

Eh nalimutan ko nung naglipat kami sa bahay namin. Nagalit nanay ko. Ano ba consequences nun? Ha-ha!

^^^ At tubig bro....

Inspite of my science and technology background, I should admit that I still believe in superstition. Funny thing is that, our friends and relatives would always consult me when they're in doubt on these things. I should say that some of them make sense, but others are totally irrational....

So true... but some stuff do have practical reasons like the preference of a house facing the rising sun for the chinese.

Agree bro. I am a believer of feng shui (not necessarily a superstition, IMO). And, my personal opinion is that feng shui makes sense most of the time. I mean, it's mostly aligned towards practicality of living and logic.... Again, friends and relatives would always consult me on feng shui issues (even if I am not an expert).....

I believe in feng sui, it makes sense than other superstitious beliefs. because in feng sui there is some sense in it.

just similar to what GH said earlier, the main door of our home is facing the east or where the sun rises.

BTW, im a chinese

What I hate about fungsui is a lot (beyond the basics) depends on the so-called fungsui "expert". Unfortunately, ask five "experts" on how a certain house or other location should be "arranged" and you get five different answers.
