I remember Smart Telecomms coming out with a wireless landline in Baguio City back in 2000 or 2001, mainly to cover areas/addresses which doesn't have an existing line network, or simply not enough subscribers to justify the cost of putting one. Calling rates, as I believe, was between that of a landline and cellphone.
People who'd bring a thing like this in a cafe or mall should have their heads checked ... o baka hindi pa nila inabutan ang analog cellphone nuon (as opposed to GSM which is digital) at feel nila retro.

It's actually called WLL or wireless local loop. PLDT/Smart used this network where copper cable is not available.

Meron erpats ko nyan! Php500/month lang yata yun tapos coverage is Binondo and Makati pa lang yata, if i'm not mistaken.

dito pa sa bicutan ok din po, pero sa loob ng house medyo mahina pa hehehe lalabas pa ako sa terrace to get a nice signal
