there was a long thread about cycling here somewhere...
you can choose from lots of bikes sa cartimar or quiapo(quezon blvd, opposite side of the church). price range is P10K to P100K+..depends really on what your budget is.

The bike is a good deal from what I read and from the pictures.
I would only change one thing (if and when you get this bike). Change the seat to a wider one (women's seat models). A standard seat can be painful if you are a big guy. Women's style seats are wider, with better padding and will give better support & comfort for bigger guys too.

Its a good buy considering puro japan na yung parts. And another good thing on buying bikes with japan parts is kahit i-stock mo sya at paalikabukan for many years, pagpunas mo, parang bago pa rin

mukhang ok na rin for a starter bike, not very sure kung good buy nga talaga since pre-owned na sya and walang nalagay kung gaano ka-old, sumemplang na ba bike na yan, or gusto lang mag-upgrade or nagsawa na. shimano parts are divided into yet several categories - from low end(acera) to high end(dura-ace yata). so i'm not sure what parts ang kinabit.
two years ago, bumuo ako ng bike. alloy frame din and mostly high-end shimano parts ginamit ko. umabot ako ng P15K. that's brand new.
so i suggest, check out muna sa cartimar/quiapo and see how much you'll end up with sa mga components mo. uso na rin kasi ngayon ang disk brakes, at i think medyo nagmura na. sa disk brakes, kelangan mo disk-brake ready ang frame, ang hubs, etc. usually set na yan. after ka makapag-canvass ng prices and it's not that far away from the one sa bidshot, e di magbuo ka na lang(usually bike shops nagbubuo, ituturo mo lang gusto mong piyesa).
save some money for a helmet, cycling shorts(with foam sa groin area) & a dri-fit shirt.Last edited by Boy Torotot; June 11th, 2006 at 11:27 PM.
