Has anyone here tried this unit?

I am currently looking for a compact inverter WT and this seems to be the most compact that I have seen so far.
There was this thread in one of the pinoy forums that detailed major aircon brands and what china brand they were rebadged from ... for example, a carrier inverter window aircon is actually a rebadged midea ... does anyone know which forum that is? ...
You mentioned something of the sort a couple of years ago, except naming Midea specifically: Window type aircon (inverter)
Doing some search, several Reddit and Quora threads popped up talking around this topic.
I think major brands now are rebadging Midea and/or Gree units for their smaller residential and SMB product offerings (ductless splits and window ACs) because it doesn't make sense for them to continue R&D when their cheap Chinese competitors are flooding the market. If you can't beat 'em....
That said, it seems that they still continue to design and innovate on their larger core HVAC systems, in-house.
Kinda like how Toyota rebadged Daihatsu units to capture a specific market segment, before they bought the company altogether.
TipidPC ... thread is still active ... since 2020...
DC Inverter Aircon Thread (Aircon roundup and FAQ)...
just got a small a/c for an 8sq m cubicle
8k sa sm. 6k on lazada. astron brand, made by TCL, w/ some stupid marketing wankery "inverter class"![]()
if it's good i'll buy another one for a camper trailer project. only 500-something watts, very easy to run from an inverter
The one star rating sums it all, it's the less efficient AC compare to any other brand/units with 0.6hp.
Grabe marketing dito, para lang hindi mapansin ang one star i nilagyan ng inverter class dahil sa R32.
Where in fact, R32 is the new refrigerant being pushed right now to replace the r410a due to it contributes less to climate change/global warming.
If all ACs will be using R32 once mapasa yung regulation to use R32 as refrigerant, lahat ACs magiging inverter class na, hehe.
