OT mga sirs, but the Condura 0.75hp non inverter window ac I just bought has difficulty cooling our 10.5sqm room within 2 hours at night with the thermostat set at 75%. I am comparing this to our Carrier 0.6hp non inverter window ac, which it replaced, which can cool our room within 2 hours at even 50% thermostat level.
The thing is, the authorized tech said that the ac is cooling normally since it can achieve 18C in 15 minutes at full thermostat setting. What could be my problem?
Yes Doc, for the Condura, it says 12.0 EER with cooling cap of 7,000 kJ/hr and 585 watts power input. I probably already threw away the one for the Carrier.
But I saw, one of my old Condura same model and it says 10.3 EER with cooling cap of 7,400 kJ/hr and 718 watts input.
Are they bringing down the specs purposely or is it because of the change in refrigerant? I'm guessing, my old unit uses R22.

i had an old kelvinator 0.75 hp. window-type, installed brand new, some years back.
for some reason, it also just could not cool my 10 sqm room enough.
fortunately, my office had an ancient 2 hp carrier, that they were condemning because the new units had arrived.

Recently bought Panasonic 1hp Inverter Aircon CW-XS108VPH. Price was 27,900 in cash sa Welcome Home Appliances San Juan compare sa price ni SM na 31,499. Hopefully, di naman masyado masakit sa bulsa yung electric bill ko.![]()
Yan din nasa isip ko, lalo na at konti lang price difference between 1.0 and 1.5 hp. In terms of consumption naman, magpareho lang kaya? kasi i saw that the cooling power is in a range, unlike in conventional na fixed.
Sa conventional, one speed lang ang compressor di ba, and sa inverter variable based on thermostat. So I assume, pareho lang consumption ng 1.0 and 1.5 hp inverter, given the same room conditions. Tama ba?
do you already have an aircon installed? how's the cooling? that should give you an idea of what you need.
if cooling comfort is the objective, i recommend the bigger unit.
the smaller aircon might spend all its time, trying to cool the room. it might still consume less electricity, by virtue of its smaller motors, but it might not succeed enough in the cooling-the-room part.
if your place is commercial, with lotsa door openings and traffic, get the biggest you can get your hands on. it would be very difficult to adequately cool your place and the rest of the world outside it.
those store or factory estimates, are usually for private dwellings.
if your room is directly hit by sunlight, get the bigger (biggest?) aircon.
it is much easier to fit in a smaller aircon in a big hole, than a big aircon, in a small hole.

just to give you an idea, from conventional AC 1hp to .75hp, 10 hours a day average, nasa 4k ang bill (more or less). year 2016 changed to 1hp inverter less 3k bill, but average used is 14-20 hours (IIRC)a day and 24 hours on weekends; then upgraded to 1.5hp inverter same usage almost same bill lang but a bit lower (less 500 php), but room cools faster now.
sana nga ginawan ko ng excel file eh. pero ang measurement ko kasi is KW since may sub meter ako para sa room ko lang

Actually ninja 1st time ko mag aircon. 18 sqm size ng room. In 15 minutes malamig naman kagad siguro dahil din sa bago lol. 2 weeks ko pa lang nagagamit aircon average daily use is 8 hours pag weekdays then 14 to 16 hours pag weekends.
I set it at "cold mode 20-degree celsius" for the first 30 minutes then "sleep mode 24-degree celsius" the rest of the night. Mas matipid ba talaga pag nasa sleep mode? Can someone help me confirm this? [emoji52]

Wow! Baka ideal condition ang room mo bro! No direct sunlight hitting any of your walls, cool location to begin with, low ceiling, no other appliance that causes heat and a really good AC.
Ay wait, BPO pala ako nag work so umaga hanggang ako gumagamit ng AC. Nasa 30-36c plus humidity ang average temp na kailangan palamigin ng AC.
Btw re: sleepmode, kung dry mode katumbas nyan for sure matipid din sa consumption.

In some aircons, sleep mode is different from dry mode ... Sleep mode will shut off aircon in 8 hours ... Plus it will increase the temperature by 1 degree in an hour or two ... Depends on the brand and model ...
I could be wrong but dry mode could mean "dehumidify" mode.

If you use the dehumidify function, you can save some electricity versus using the air conditioning function, although it, of course, won't really cool things down (usually heats up the room instead), but just reduces moisture in the air, which can feel better in some cases. You might also see this function as ドライ.
