I have a tool kit that I transfer to the car that I will be using for the day.
Consists of:
1 set combination open/box metric wrenches
1 set metric sockets
1 set hex wrenches
1 set torx wrenches
vise grips
pliers (two sizes)
assorted (+) and (-) screwdrivers
assorted bolts, nuts, washers
a tube of all purpose grease
assorted lenghts of wire
emery paper
a can of penetrating oil
a 12 volt trouble light
a small flashlight with extra batteries
a portable car battery charger
jumper cables
a can of DOT 4 brake fluid
a litre of engine oil
a litre of ATF
and misc other stuff.
All neatly packed in a grab and go toolchest.

Spare tire, service jack and lug wrench. A properly maintained car and carefully planned trips should not need a whole lot of baggage

if all we are interested in are fuel versus electricity expenses, someone must already have made...
electric powered cars
