i agree with uls to a certain extent

so i guess when it comes down to it, it all depends on the person and how they were brought up.

re mayabang, e bahala sila sa buhay nila hehe may mga tao kasi na assertive lang and malakas ang dating kaya people take him for mayabang. at meron talagang mahangin at universally mayabang hehe

    pa-sosi = social climber

Yes there are always exceptions. There are previously rich people who have squandered their wealth and they have nothing left except their surname.

They still go around projecting the image that they are still rich. Going as far as borrowing large amounts of money from people using their family history/surname as collateral.

    Generalization lang ung nasabi ko.

    There are ALWAYS exceptions.

There are outwardly loud pa-sosy people who have little or no net worth... and there are jologs-looking people who have millions in the bank.

the new rich is flashier than the old rich. may konting conscious effort sosy nila. Pero may K.

the upper middle parang new rich. mejo blurry line dito coz on the outside, they look almost the same. Difference is in the financing of the image.

lower middle class and not-so-poor poor--- eto na--- dito madami pa-sosyal. they try to imitate the upper middle class or even the rich. Halatang halata trying hard sila. As in IN-UR-FACE sosy ako! hehehe

before anyone reacts violently, i want to state that everyone has the right to move up in life. Kanya kanyang paraan lang yan. Yun nga lang there are people who have a funny way of trying to move up.

    hehe

    New rich yan.

Pero pag na-maintain nya at napalago nya ung wealth nya hanggang lumaki ung apo nya, by that time, di na natin masasabi new rich ung apo nya..

    Yup tama ka.

    Pasocy, social climber.

    Mayabang, personality lang (pampatawa lang)

    Socy, natural lang.

sosi - has ipod. privately listens to tunes while watching sunset atop private hillside/beachfront retreat.

pa-sosi - has ipod. goes to mall wearing the device like a dogtag.

mayabang - walang ipod. bumili ng ipod earphone look-alike. pinagmamalaki sa iba na maganda talaga ang tugtog pag ipod ang player at hindi mumurahing mp3 player lang.

Kasi hard work builds character and makes one humble. E ung mga anak di nila pinagdaanan yung hirap, so meron mga mayabang. la kasi character building experience...
