base sa obserbasyon ko, yung names ending in "i" in japanese are usually for males. those ending in "o" are for females. sa atin baliktad.

    akiko - girl

    takumi - boy

searched it sa net. kaya pala.

"Ko" is often used for the end of female names, and it means "a child".
