Well as Roman Pearce said in F&F6: And thats how you stay rich!

My friend who owns a geotechnical/engineering company now replaced his fleet of company cars with BYDs. Para daw wala problema sa coding.

i think that's one big reason why they choose EVs and hybrids. mahal mag maintain nang second car, if only for coding, 'no!

I have loved the CRV over the years, a gen 1 & gen 5 still in the garage since new. With the current pricing of the CRV RS HEV breaching the 2.5m mark, a NX350H AWD is a better buy. With Lexus offering me a huge discount, bringing the price below 3m.

It is cheaper to maintain an electric car than a hybrid. For BYD EV, owner just needs to go back to the dealer yearly for calibration, system update + checking of brakes & Tires. As for BMW EV, recommended service intervals is 2yrs and free service for 5yrs if I recall correctly.

Parang ayaw ko na nga bumalik sa Japanese cars after driving Chinese cars eh.

The rich knows what the future holds. you check out the cars in most exclusive villages in the metro and most will have a hybrid or an EV in the garage.
compared to a Toyota the interior and tech of chinese cars are miles away.

What your apprehension with driving an EV?
    Have you test driven one?
i own and drive both EV and ICE.
i honestly dont wanna go back to driving ice cars if i can.

Lebron's "announcement" turned out be so a big ado over nothing.

local perception of anything new, is the longevity question.
    especially! those of china origin...
it is not easy to live down an unsavory reputation. it takes longer to upgrade a reputation than to downgrade it.

But aren't EVs disposable? you can't keep it forever unlike traditional cars like Toyotas and Hondas etc that could last 20 yrs

Never driven one. Rode a Tesla lang.

I can't even afford to buy my own car so I have to make sure that my purchase will last me a long time because I don't know when I'll be given another one hehe. If I had a ton of disposable money, I would buy a BYD, but still it won't be my daily driver. I was supposed to be given a new car this year but since I didn't do as I was told, no car Buti na lang my car is a Toyota :P

Ang sarap na matawag na Ate. I wonder if I had a baby brother (I NEVER wanted a sister and I'm glad I don't have one). I have a second cousin who calls me Ate, needless to say, he is my favorite

Speaking of Toyotas, saw a Corolla Altis 10th Gen this morning. I was pleasantly surprised to see the lines from the rear quarter panel to the trunk were done well. Didn't think Toyota had it in them.

I think everything except for the battery should last. Parang old electric fans lang if they're made well they'll last decades.
Hopefully by the time the current crop of cars are 10 years old the price of battery replacement will have come down.

I was looking at GoogleMaps streetview the other day. I browsed my old Japanese university and found a first generation Prius parked outside. I remembered one of my professors drove one back in 2012 and even with the license plate blurred, I can tell from the color that it was the same car. I looked at the Streetview pic date and it was March 2025. Browsing other Streetview pics and I found the same car parked in teh same area in 2015.

    in my opinion,
unless the movie is a period piece,
"sa cine lang palaging bago ang mga kotse".
    in my opinion.

EV are like smartphones while ICE cars are like Nokia Cellphones.
There are still a lot of people in the world using the basic keypad Cellphone but a large majority has switched to smartphone even if they wont last as long as a Nokia, not as indestructible, batteries wont last a week.
    people tend to resist change
it took some time before smartphone became the norm.
    Same thing with EV.
The most advance EV like the Tesla needs a learning curve but once you get used to it going back to ICE cars seems archaic.

    Toyota would disagree.
