And the bullying doesn't stop at school. It goes on their whole life. Even at work. I know people here in the office that are made fun of because of their name. Someone here has a first name of Baby NOT a nickname ha.

I also know kids who were bullied for their surnames and that is not their fault anymore. But the first name is the parents fault

I really don't understand why parents don't think of these things

Minsan, name pa lang you already get an idea of the person's background.

the problem kasi with names eh you need some originality....

Those are ghetto names. There was a study conducted na black sounding names get less call back when looking for a job.

You can have 2 first names to make it unique.

My second name is an Americanized version of my great grandmother's first name. I told my Lola I am mad at my parents for not giving me the traditional Spanish name as my great grandmother but my Lola said my parents made the right decision because a religious Spanish name is prone to issues. Tama siya because everyone now is so PC. You can't even say Merry Christmas anymore because of the Christ. Wow.

Mini trivia : the 1st pope to change his name is Mercurio changing it to John II. He felt its not wise to have a pope with pagan god name.

    identity is very important....

I'm thankful I can get away with a generic first name because I have a unique surname. The con is it always gets mispronounced I get really impressed when a person can pronounce my surname properly the first time.
