Any friends or relative nyo na nakapagpashot na ng Moderna? How was it?
the study is dated june 2020. 10 months old.
they got ten covid patients. 7 were diagnosed positive by laboratory testing, and 3 were clinically positive, but laboratory-negative. they were treated with melatonin. they all went home after 8 days.
in contrast, non-melatoninized covid patients averaged 13 days' hospitalization. a number, however, died.
the researchers also said that the groups they used were not comparable.
one may look at this study in two ways.
one, melatonin is the silver bullet.
two, "it is promising, even suggestive, but it is not a silver bullet. it needs further study."
considering the numbers involved, i agree that it is promising, but it needs more study. i mean, ten patients only...?
in two big hospitals i am familiar with,
melatonin is not a standard medication for covid.
Thanks for the translation doc. Guess it's best to just add this to the ivermectin pile.

Ito proper clinical trial done and published in JAMA.
Either this belongs to the 2% studies that ivm doesnt work according to bone doctor Agbayani or he denies this trial. Hehe
Sadly, most doctors who advocate ivm have their own agenda - they have their own pharmacies! Ehem Dr. Landrito...

now, this is a more meaningful study.
it had 476 test subjects.
having a much larger number of test subjects does make the study more meaningful. having a longer time segment of study also helps.
today, many diseases are seen in a radically different manner compared to yesteryears', all because there are many more examples now than before, and also because of the extended time element.
"we are seeing more of them, for longer periods of time."
numbers and time. both are friends of good research.

And yet those with hidden agenda will still push for their miracle drug. Asan na ba yung sikat din nakaraan na Covid19 drug life saver?

Honestly, I hoping that ivm actually does what its claimed to do. Maybe its too good to be true.

Same here. An affordable medicine that can stop this nightmare pandemic. But should go through the right process for safety purposes.
But a few doctors who treat covid patients have voiced out their opinion that some patients have delayed their hospitalization since umasa muna sa ivermectin.

Ako kasi curious. We know it’s safe to use on different animals at the dosage against worms pero a human is a completely more sophisticated being. Tapos yung dosage parang based lang sa dosage on animals, adjusted to the average weight of humans. We also do not know the safety margin. Dami pang kailangan malaman.

Culture of impunity maski sa ivm.

Reminds me when I engaged a former schoolmate. He is a conspiracy theorist, anti vaxxer & pro ivm. He claims to have cpd units in geriatric med but he isn’t a medical doctor. He advises, in forums how to treat themselves if they have covid using ivermectin, hydrochloroquin, apple cider vinegar among others. I told him one big difference between him & a real doctor aside from the education is, doctors have licenses & are accountable for their actions while guys like him are not.

... a good example of "a little knowledge can be a dangerous thing"...
these people can probably be very conversant and convincing with the contents of those courses.
but beyond that, they probably won't be able to connect the dots.
pag may mangyaring di-kanais-nais sa tao, wala siyang masasabi o magagawa.
i am afraid to confess this, but,
it also happens in our profession.
a specialist may be the last word in his specialty, but put him in another part of the body and he probably knows only as much as a resident physician trainee.
hey! maraming alam ang RPT! what he lacks, is experience.
heh heh.

I wonder if, with all the claims on ivm, it’s being used in India.
India is the worlds largest generics drug maker & can easily compound this drug.
India is also experiencing a surge of epic proportions with record numbers of daily infections
It is the perfect proving ground for ivm.

Pano kayo ma prove na effective ang ivm? Pang mild cases lang sya di ba? Pag gumaling hindi mo alam kung dahil sa ivm or dahil mild lang kasi.
