Most of the people I know who live abroad, including close friends and relatives, don't regularly eat at Jabee when they're here.

But will gladly travel long distances and wait in line for extended periods for some Chicken Joy when they go back abroad. It's a "Taste of Home" they said. Although, the taste is quite different in their stores in other countries. LoL.

    old story.
young missionary's first time in the wild lands, where some of their "food" was something we usually rather step on than eat.
Christmas day. and the missionary felt so lonely for the good food that they would normally have back home, smelling all that ham.. rich soup.. breads.
the village elder notices and comforts him, "i know how you feel. you miss the grubs from your village, too. they taste so much better than the grubs here. i felt the same way, when my family chose to move here many years ago."

Wala bang kinukuhang courier company yung Lazada? Parang mga freelance na private car owners lang lagi ang nagdedeliver. Parang mga wala sa sarili at bagong gising pa yung iba.

Yung mga sold and fulfilled by Lazada yata ang may sariling courier sir. For the others, mga 3rd party couriers lang. May commission yata ang mga yun depende sa dami ng madedeliver nila. Yung nagdweliver kanina ng Osram ko, sabi nya 300 daw dedeliver nya ngayong araw.

Oh. That's why. Nakakatakot lang yung mga unmarked cars, specially the white vans.

300 items is insane. Ang dami! Mukhang magandang raket for the couriers.

What the hell is happening in San Francisco? It used to be one of my favorite destinations for decades. We used to have friends there who we stayed with when we were in town. But, they moved to Portland OR.

you're american you should have heard of the term NIMBY (not in my backyard)

Sanfo real estate owners are NIMBYs -- they oppose construction of new high rise apartment buildings to address the housing shortage coz the buildings will cast shadows and block views or something

    they're that selfish

    hence that video you posted

The US is like 50 little countries. Each state have their rules which may or may not apply to other states. The Feds are the big brother who watches over all of us. For decades, California was the model which set the example. Not anymore.

California normally doesn't come up in our conversations except when it's about a vacation. I don't deal with their internal stuff. Here where I am? I do volunteer work to help out because the country has been good to me. You know. Expressing a little gratitude. But, my efforts are focused close to home. It's hard enough doing volunteer work locally, much less going out of state.

Arizona is nowhere close to being as rich as California. But, the cost of living is also quite low in comparison. So, I have to wonder. What is California doing with all its money?

Never mind. I looked up apartment prices in SFO and it's like ~$3500+ or more for a studio. A similar one here is like ~$500+. Ouch. At those prices, California may not be as rich as I though.
