I'm referring to "frivolous" safety devices such as Lane Departure Alert, Pre-Collision System, Adaptive Cruise Control, Blind Spot Monitoring, HUD, etc. Anyone with solid driving habits don't need them.

The only good thing I like about them is they make the car feel like a jet fighter. When one of them beeps, I pretend I'm under attack. "Uh-oh. Missile lock!"

I almost feel the car needs a second battery just for these electronics.

Same feeling with gps stand alone units i.e. Garmins. I acknowledge the usefulness of them. Especially in unchartered (by me) places. Pero nakakabobo. Before GPS, I make sure I remember every street, corner or landmark papunta sa isang lugar. Now, I just input or find saved places sa GPS receiver ko. I became a slave of the GPS. Hahaha

It seems to me those technologies are precursors to self driving cars. Their development seems to come hand in hand with electrification.

I also memorize my routes beforehand. I still use Google Maps to scout ahead of time and have an idea of the street layouts, unexpected turns, etc.

Now that we use Apple Car Play, I guess I can use Siri.

It looks like I'm donating my old car (06 sonata) to someone in need. She'll be here to pick it up. I kinda hate to see the car go. But, at 204k miles (328k km), I guess it's time to let go. Hmmm. The wife also suddenly renewed her need for a minivan (Toyota Sienna). I hope that's just a coincidence.

I'm not paying for two new cars at once.

    Same thing here.

I used to write my route on a piece of paper for ready reference and memorize it... Especially when driving in the US...

Then the GPS.... And now, Waze....

I still have 3 GPS units which I don't use anymore here in the Philippines..... I keep them at hand though in case of emergencies especially when traveling outside the Metro...

Well, when the Lane Departure Alert starts beeping and the tires make contact with the road line, the driving wheel nudges the car back into the lane. I call that pulling 12Gs.

My eldest kid went nuts with the Camry when she found out the 2019 model has Apple Car Play. I connected her iPhone and Siri actually worked. I felt like an idiot talking to the car. It didn't help that it referred to me using my daughter's name. But, Siri does work. That'll be the Bitchin Betty.

The thing actually has a tiny millimeter radar that allows dynamic cruise control. I'd hate to see the repair costs if I have a fender bender.

Since I don't have the Sonata anymore, I guess the Camry is my car now. I think my wife got put off by all the hi-tech stuff although she enjoyed driving the car.

Can't seem to find the prepper thread any more...

Can anyone suggest a good small pocket radio, AM/FM, AAA batteries? Sony and Panasonic offerings only take AA batteries. Preferrably cheap, but a bit better than the standard fare in tiangges. tia

sony and toshiba with AAs are bigger, but they sound better and have superior frequency separation over the generic, smaller, AAA ones, that i also had.

try the electronics px goods store in level 2 of cash n carry bldg, beside national.

Mali ata interpretasyon mo bro, niligtas tayo ni Jesus from annihilation kasi gusto na pasabugin ni God the Father ang mundo after so many failures in the Old Testament as well as his disappointment with his chosen people, The Israelites.

Jesus endured everything, suffering physically, mentally and even spiritually coz God did not even help him out nun pinako sya sa krus. Diba nga sumigaw sya before his death: “Father, why have you forsaken me?”

The New Testament are even harder than the old testament

    Kasi kita mo naman teachings
Love Your Enemies as you love yourself
He who casts the first stone: meaning love the prostitutes and all the rejects of socieities

Dyan pa lang bagsak na tayo eh pano pa kayo yun ordeal nya na dinanas nya ngaun holy week in in the hands of the Romans:

Tapos sabi ni God diba after Jesus resurrection:

“Jesus is the way, the truth and the light. Everyone must come through him.”

so meaning hinde na nya i-destroy ang mundo like before such as Sodom and Gomorrah or Noah’s Ark, basta hinde ka pumasa kay Jesus, wala tapon na soul mo. So individual na lang judgment hindi tulad ng old testament mass judgment, mass destruction din

I sure hope you understand this kasi your soul depends on it,

After a few years of sticking to automated car washes, I'm going back to washing cars on my driveway. It's been a while. But, I guess I can start with buying a foam gun for the garden hose plus some Meguiar's auto care and detailing products.

Hinde eh kasi you have to take into account nangyari sa each of the 11 apostles, all of them died brutally in he hands of non-believers.

Malay ba nila na ang gagawin ni Jesus is the lowest of the low, to be executed as an ordinary criminal in Jewish times, and yet laking gulat nila after 3 days, nag resurrect sya. Dun talaga naging believers ang apostles, sa easter.

You have to take note, hinde naman special si Jesus coz he is the son of God, ang dami naging anak ang diyos sa ibat ibang culture, si Zeus diba anak nya si Hercules saka Achilles. Sa india ganun, sa buddhist gsnun din

Pero yun ginawa ni Jesus ang pinaka naiiba sa lahat. A life of suffering and sacrifice to show his love for our Father, the creator,

So what he did, and what the apostles did after resurrection, that is what is expected of us , present Christians.

Bruh, that’s what they say penitence during holy week..
Sabay din jan ang fasting and abstinence... when you do all those things physically manghihina tayo but with prayers, we are enriching our soul by feeding them spirtually through prayer at manatiling malakas...
