rheumatologist or internist, or orthopedic surgeon or ER medicine. or fam med! they also practice industrial medicine, kasi.
there's no hard and fast rule.
what happens next will depend entirely on the doctor's... skills.
first thing to do, is relieve the pain. then find out what's causing it.
but i have no idea on how easy or how difficult it is, to get that appointment.

I thought only men had gout, and I'm too young for gout huhuhu
Weird lang kasi as long as I don't move it doesn't hurt as bad pero when I bend my knee esp when I walk it hurts so bad para ko matutumbaI've never had this kind of knee pain in my entire life before. Last night I was crying over the phone sa friend ko and I was up until 6 am
I am supposed to renew my expired license today pero di talaga ako makagalaw. I cancelled all my meet ups na this week, it's my birthday week pa naman
I know a rheumatologist referred by Dr Cutie before
I think I had an awkward landing last week pero the pain is getting worse tapos left knee lang. It got worse last night kasi I went out with my friends and I had to take the stairs, bad trip pa walang handle yung stairsSo that made the pain so bad I can barely walk back to my car. I took flanax while we were having coffee pero no effect
Thank you. I will check his schedule din. WF morning pala. My fear lang of going to a surgeon baka gusto ako i surgery![]()
I read up on gout and it rarely happens to non menopause women daw. I really hope it's not gout

Gout is easier to cure ... just diet ...

technically,
as gout is usually genetic,
one may not really cure it, as the man on the street understands "cure".
but thru assiduous diet, one may control its angry head, i.e., lessen its occurrence in one's life.
oh no, my Dad had gout in his late 40s, tapos yung Auntie ko naman (Mom's sister) got it in her 70s so meron both sides
Kanina I had a panic attack from the pain, I thought na stroke na ko because I felt like the pain was all over my body naMuntik na ko pa ER buti my second MOm was able to calm me down and then my Mom said how can it be a stroke when my BP is normal
but areas afflicted w/ gout do get warm , tama ba doc?
i never had gout * knock on wood * but people i know who got it say it's real bad whenever it flares up. according to them, the pain is debilitating enough to make them stay in bed all day.
* cathy- hyper extended knee pala iyong term nila sa sports. they call it that when the knee bends forward (far enough) instead of the usual way it's designed to.

Breakdancers at risk for “headspin hole,” doctors warn '-' Ars Technica
I remember reading this as a joke in Pugad Baboy. Totoo pala!Breakdancing has become a global phenomenon since it first emerged in the 1970s, even making its debut as an official event at this year's Summer Olympics. But hardcore breakers are prone to injury (sprains, strains, tendonitis), including a bizarre condition known as "headspin hole" or "breakdance bulge"—a protruding lump on the scalp caused by repeatedly performing the power move known as a headspin. A new paper published in the British Medical Journal (BMJ) describes one such case that required surgery to redress.
According to the authors, there are very few published papers about the phenomenon; they cite two in particular. A 2009 German study of 106 breakdancers found that 60.4 percent of them experienced overuse injuries to the scalp because of headspins, with 31.1 percent of those cases reporting hair loss, 23.6 percent developing head bumps, and 36.8 percent experiencing scalp inflammation. A 2023 study of 142 breakdancers reported those who practiced headspins more than three times a week were much more likely to suffer hair loss.
overuse something, and you eventually get that something damaged.
thumb arthritis. they see it in folks who use their thumbs... computer keyboard users... gaming gadget hand controls...
cervical (neck) arthritis. those who stand on their heads on a regular basis.
leg joints. athletes who do a lot of ambulation.
hand arthritis and/or tenosynovytis, from pianists who strenuously practice their craft.
gout. it has very little to do with activity, and everything to do with one's diet and one's chromosomes.
the excess uric acid in the blood, will crystallize and deposit in tissues. joints are particularly distressing, because they cause considerable pain when they are moved. no such pain occurs when the deposits (gouty tophus) develop in non-moving, soft tissues like skin and under skin.

Anything that is ... abused ... overused ... misused ... unused ... becomes useless ...
are old excess cvt fluids good lubricants for gate hinges, gate lever handles, bike chains, and the like?
are they also good rust repellants or effective in displacing water when they're wiped down on steel garden sets that are exposed to the elements 24/7?
i usually use left over motor oils and ATFs for lubricating and anti-rust purposes but the next time around i want to utilize those jugs of cvt fluid overruns gathering dust
in the cabinet too. or maybe i can mix motor oil, atf, and cvt fluid so i can maximize their usability.
