I don't know about the particular suburbs in CHI, but we're used to walking the suburbs on NJ/NY even late at night or early morning....

Like (worst case) we were riding the public bus from JFK at 12mn (air train was out of commission that time), transferring and riding the subway in NY at 1AM; And walked for a couple of miles with our carry on luggages at 2AM in Jersey City,- my lady cousin, my eldest son and myself... (remember the sleeping man in the subway train?)

Well, agree to be better on the safe side.

Here where I am, it's mostly safe for people to walk around in. I take 1.5 to 2.5 hour walks and it's fine. The main bad time to walk is after midnight because the wild animals come out.

Daytime is great although once in a while, some javelinas venture out during the day.

Crime is pretty low in our area. People leave their bikes outside. Some even leave their garage doors open.

As far as Illinois..... I never lived in Chicago. But, I spent a year at Rantoul to the south and did one semester at the University of Illinois at Champaign-Urbana. Night time was quite safe.

A javelina aka peccary is sort of like a pig. I think they're protected. So, I'll get in trouble if I kill one without a permit.

I wonder if people in their 80's are still having S-E-X? Just wondering because one time, my mother-in-law's (RIP) doctor asked how was her *** life. Then, I started wondering what my life will be like if I reached her age. Yeah. I probably will still be. ;)

When I saw this picture, first thought I had was whether they can be eaten. I had to look it up. Apparently, they’re not endangered although they are considered game animals with a hunting season.

Yup. They're not going to be extinct any time soon. But, I can't just kill em either. Besides, javelina meat requires special cutting and preparation before they can be eaten.

I encountered a real wild boar when I used to live in California. On the way to work one night (up in the hills), I saw a huge one at the middle of the road staring at me. It didn't budge even when I honked at it. Then, I just remained quiet until it moved off. No need for it to charge and put a big dent on my car.

Actually, the feral ones (razor backs) are more dangerous. They are huge, bigger than wild boars to my knowledge.

The one I saw was almost as big as a subcompact. Anyone remember a tiny car called a Minica? Or, you know, one of those tiny Japanese cars. That's how big it was. I was in my Ford Contour. I didn't feel 100% safe in it.

A friend of mine has a picture of one he shot in Australia, near Darwin. Huge, like you said, a car. They raid the grain sheds at night & they are really scary.

Hindi na ko maglalakad. I thought they were babying me too much, kasi naman halos stone's throw away lang yung Target samin pero ayaw ako palakarin.

The big difference is I am alone and I am a woman. Sa suburbs namin walang ka tao tao, tama si uls and egan, walang makakarinig sakin if something happened.

I'd still be having s3x if crush were with me. He's pure s3x! hahaha! The mere sight of him is orgasmic! hahah! Kaya dapat be with a person you are so crazy for, kasi I was told it dies down over time. If you are a million times crazy over a person, even over the years, crazy in love pa rin

Oh, yeah. Pigs can grow quite big, even domesticated ones. I remember when I lived in the PH, there was a huge pig waddling along on the street being steered with a bamboo rod by a Pinoy farmer.

Anyway, if you like to shop, this is the time to think about getting winter clothes. They're cheapest during summer. Same thing for Christmas stuff.

You do know about winters over there, correct? The Windy City?

Illinois also gets a lot of freezing rain. Nasty stuff whether you're driving or walking.

The worst freezing rain I was in was just south of there at Rantoul.

WOW!!! But a pig that can grow as big as a mini car (smart car)? Never saw one even on TV.

Where can I buy Christmas stuff here? Usually it goes on sale after Christmas diba? I need to buy Christmas wrappers and ribbons I don't want to spend on winter clothes e. I am waiting for the next big sale so I can buy summer clothes, that should be labor day?

Everyone is teasing me because I insist on wearing shorts and tank, dress, ballet flats and flip flops. They said when during winter, no more of that for me. Of course I know that, so I will be in CA during winter

My Mom also cannot take winter here so she goes home to Manila during winter.

You live in Arizona? How is the weather there? I'm planning on going to Grand Canyon next month.

Your mom is smart. That's what many do during winter. I'd like to spend New Year's Eve in the PH. I like lots and lots of fireworks aka flashes and explosions.

Here in southern Arizona? It gets anywhere from 105F to 120F (41C to 49C) during summer and higher in concrete jungles. But, you're going to northern Arizona near Flagstaff. It's about 20 degrees cooler up there. Expect mid to upper 80's, maybe even low 90's. Still bring a sweater because it can get cool overnight.

Oh. Don't forget Meteor Crater. It's 30 minutes away from Flagstaff.

Yup. Imagine typical PH temperatures. But, very dry. You can get dehydrated even in the shade.

It's so dry my wife n kids use a lot of lip balms and skin moisturizers. Me? I don't care if I can scratch my name on my skin.

But you don't perspire as much in dry heat as compared to an environment w/ a high rate of humidity, right?
