And why do we still need to fill up parents name when adult na yun applicant? Like sa DFA passport? Kahit senior citizen kailangan pa rin fill up yun parents name nila.

it helps, when another person has the same name as you, and the authorities had to check on your identity and lineage.
i had a teacher once, who always insisted on including "S" as his middle name, because that was the only differentiator, daw, from a katukayo who had a criminal record.
I believe parents' lineage / citizenship is important information that's why they ask for it. Because your citizenship is determined by your parents' citizenship. That's how it is in our country. Unlike, say, the USA where the fact that you're born there, you're already a citizen.
Ah yes, that's another matter, altogether. DFA renewals and the fact you have to fill up the same application over and over again as if your parents name will change, or your gender will change, blah blah blah. I had the same qualms about DL renewal, but the last time I renewed, I was surprised I did not have to fill up an application form anymore. At least LTO has imporved in that aspect.
Kahit din naman sa visa application. Kelangan parin ng parents name. Old old man had already forgotten his parents details pero pinayagan parin. I guess, it is just a universal countercheck din ang parents name.

i look forward to the day when all they have to do is to point the DNA gun at you and ...voila!
aprub!
Bro, I presume you're very athletic, but have you seen a doctor about that?
Even if you have a normal resting ECG result, some heart ailments may only show up near maximal heart rate. Depende sa consult, you could be advised to take a treadmill stress test or other diagnostic procedure (2D echo, etc.) just to rule out any problems. It may be inconvenient, but if it turns out to be nothing eh di good, di ba?

Even for those of us who run marathons (42k), I had one of my running buddies suffer a mild stroke. When we visited him at home, he asked me how this could happen to him when we completed so many marathons already and runs regularly with us.
I said: "We can train, and eat smart, but you can't do anything about your genes" - It turned out he has a strong family history of heart disease and diabetes. To make him feel better, I just told him "Its a good thing you're also a runner, otherwise, we could be at your wake right now, instead of seeing you recuperate"
Btw, I don't know if iba sa mountain biking, but a week off shouldn't see a major decrease in fitness for that to happen.
Di ba that should replace or stop that process na of showing 2 IDs as proof?
Pero yeah. Funny and frustrating. I have this unified multi purpose ID. But when I presented this to a university for a transaction, they still asked for my SSS ID. I said I don't have that anymore because the unified ID should cover SSS. They insisted. Kamot ulo lang...
