Both the University of Oklahoma and Syracuse University got knocked out of the Final Four in humiliating fashion. It'll be Villanova vs North Carolina in the NCAA finals.

Good thing I didn't bet money on them.

Why do some people use the word jowa. How did that word even evolve. My nasty colleague uses that word and it makes me cringe. Babae pa naman siya.

Words that irritate me: jowa, syota, pasaway, tsaka, "pa more".

I really wish I had enough money to live as a recluse.

JOWA- just a guess. Parang bastardization of the term SIYOTA (another term for girlfriend) which in turn was slang for "short time".

What blows my mind is I have female colleagues who use that term for their bfs. Yung isa BF niya for more than 7 yrs, tawag niya jowa

And BTW aren't people aware when they talk too loud? I have another female colleague with a small shrieky voice and I felt like putting a bag over my head because people around the resto seemed bothered with her voice. Hay!

Same here. I also don't like how kuya and ate are being used. I like "boss", "sir" and "miss" hehe. And adding "much after a word (hungry much) good thing di na ganun kadalas gamitin.

Yup. I hate "ate" and "kuya" too. It seems like formality is being lost over the years.

When I talk to blue collar workers I also call them boss or sir. I used to say Manong when I was still in school just because that's how everyone called them then.

jowa - blame it to the proliferation of gays. They invented the word.

syota - came out during the hippy days of the late 60's to early 70's.

    pasaway- another gay lingo

pa more - mga tv personalities na nagpakulo nito.

Pasaway is a new word nga. Probably not older than 5 yrs? I would rather use "matigas ang ulo"

Actually PASAWAY is an old word most commonly used in southern tagalog provinces pag meron pinagagalitan dahil matigas ang ulo. Pinulot lang ng mga bakla when they mean anyone against.

I don't like how people are so proud to be called "pasaway". It speaks a lot about how a lot of people think nothing of breaking rules. Parang proud ka pa na hindi ka marunong sumunod sa mga patakaran.
