Yes, I believe this is the most correct literal translation of "Stinking Barbarians" -- tsaw hwan. This is what my Chinoy friend says why he does not want to go to SM Aura -- because lots of "tsaw hwan" patrons there.

They called the natives as indios, as derogatory as calling the Filipino Chinese as Intsik or Chekwa. The rich Filipinos during the Spanish era beg to differ and called themselves as illustrado (educated).

But that was about a century ago and spaniards are more PC now, at least on the outside haha

The Spaniards look down on the Chinese, the same way as the American or Europeans do. This is the reason why the Chinese built their own towns and cemeteries outside of the walls/communities built by the Spaniards or Americans.

In Rizal's Noli, it was written that the remains of Juan Crisostomo Ibarra's dad was transferred to a Chinese cemetery to segregate him from the non-heretical Catholics. It clearly shows the disdain of the Spaniards against the Chinese.
True. Up until now elders of spanish origin look down on the Chinese (kahit anong yaman pa ng Chinese, mababa tingin nila) but it's not as garapal as the Chinese looking down on Filipinos

Originally, "Filipino" refers to those born in the Philippines but of Spanish parentage. "Peninsulares", considered the highest class, refers to people of Spanish Parentage and born in Spain. "Indios", considered the lowest class, are those natives inhabiting the Philippines and (presumably) born in the Philipines too. There was also the "mestizo" -- born of Spanish and native blood. Lastly, there was also the "moro" muslims and the "aetas" -- considered as outcasts. It was really only much later that "Filipinos" came to refer to anyone who hails from the Philippines.

Nung first job ko, I worked for a Chinese non-profit org and yeah some may ugali talaga yung mga baby boomers pero meron din mababait especially yung mga kaedaran ko. They didn't make me feel inferior at all, and these are rich kids. Meron nga dun anak ng owner ng famous shoe brand, nagvolunteer to help out sa workshop na minamanage ko, yun pinagbuhat ko ng mineral water. [emoji87]

We are having lessons in history

My Lolo speaks better English than Spanish because my great grandparents are terrible in English so he and his siblings would speak in English amongst themselves

I was in cloud nine when we were together. It is hard to explain but my feelings for him are so intense, not everyone experiences that in their lifetime. I know mahal ko talaga siya, its been 2 years pero nobody can compare to him. Makuha ko lang talaga yung gusto ko, masaya na ko

Feeling superior e nasa Pilipinas naman sila. Of course hindi lahat ng Chinese masama ugali (my childhood best friend is Chinese) but you can't deny the fact that the culture of Chinese is money centric. Mabuti na Spaniard na ma siesta at gastador, kaya nalulugi kasi generous at hindi magulang.

Nung sinauna, the spanish looked down both pinoy(hindi pa pinoy tawag sa kanila) and the chinese. Pero sino ba nagsumikap = the chinese.

problema kasi sa spanish, ayon kay intelligencia of the philippines eh hindi talaga generous na open heart. Meron agenda...

The universe has its way of correcting. And ano ba nangyayari for ilan decades na. Sino ba well manage business???

Too much thinking, analysis paralysis na. Sometimes, we have to take that leap of faith and let things unfold. Bahala na si Batman! Hehehehe
