I used to think it was ok until I created something of my own which I wanted to sell. Now if somebody just copied it and himself made money, I would've wanted a piece of it because it is my creation. If I continue to get paid, I will continue to improve the product, or fund research to come out with new products as well.

It's that or I give it away for free. At which point it becomes a hobby and I will have to do something else to make money.

Buying Pirated stuff is bad. Selling them them is like your a thief. There is a Karma to that. Supporting pirated stuff will loose a lot of jobs from orig companies.

come to think of it "PIRATED" ay masama talaga.

so sa totoo lang ang tanong eh bakit we are buying it?

    makakatid ba o makakalamang?

but the truth of the matter is, pareho din yun ang kalabasan nun, without us realizing na panglalamang din lahat yun.

ang matinding tanong can we really avoid buying pirated stuff?

Sorry, but I disagree with this.
We all share the responsibility of fighting piracy. Simply said, kung walang bibili walang benta. Kung walang benta, lugi negosyo. Kung lugi negosyo, dead na.

Sabi nga ni Jacky Chan, in a different global issue..'If the buying stops, the killing can too.'

Considering about 250 - 300 of that 500 bucks covers the cost difference of the CD to the taped version?

And considering that CDs actually cost much less to produce than tapes?

    ------

But supporting piracy is wrong. File-sharing for private use, personally, is a gray area. If you want to share a file or movie with your friends, it's just the same as lending them your DVD for a weekend. But for someone to make a profit off of someone else's work?
i agree. not to mention the fact that many artists would make one or two good songs, fill the rest of the CD with garbage, and sell it for $15. i'm personally thankful that the music industry's business model has changed as a result (especially to the download-and-pay-per-song model - very convenient!)

that's a little much - i think that more restaurants need to think about not nickel-and-diming their customers...but i know it happens

What do you think of pirated stuff?
