Latest update Hangang bukas na yung closure. Hinihinto yung recovery every time umuulan. All flight are being diverted to Clark and Cebu.
PAL CANCELS/DELAYS/DIVERTS FLIGHTS DUE TO DISABLED AIRCRAFT OF OTHER CARRIER
Earlier, Manila-bound flights from Incheon and Pusan were diverted to Clark. Passengers will be transported to Manila by buses.
Please note that there is an alternate runway at NAIA, runway 13/31, that is still operational and thus some flights using narrow-body aircraft (e.g. Airbus A320s/A321s) are operating, although with unavoidable delays in many cases.
Flights using widebody aircraft (B777s, A330s/A350s/A340s) however are most affected, as these can only be accommodate on the Runway 06/24 which remains closed at the moment.
On the flights that have been diverted to alternate airports (Clark, Cebu, Utapao, Saigon, etc.), we do not yet have final information on when these flights will be allowed to proceed to Manila, as this will depend on the reopening of the main runway and the necessary re-slotting of the many affected flights of multiple airlines.
We shall provide updates as soon as we have the needed confirmations.
As this is a developing situation, we expect there will be further changes that may involve more cancellations or delays.
We request our passengers to check for continuing updates on the status of your flights by calling PAL hotline 855 8888 or by logging on to www.philippineairlines.com.
Affected passengers may rebook/refund/reroute their flights within 30days from their original flight dates.
We at Philippine Airlines sincerely apologize for the resulting inconvenience as a result of this situation, caused by an incident beyond our control. We seek the kind understanding of our passengers and their families.
(End)
