Typhoon LANDO

At 10:00 am today, the center of the Tropical Storm outside the Philippine Area of Responsibility (PAR) with international name "KOPPU" was estimated based on all available data at 1,515 km east of Luzon (15.8°N, 135.7°E) with maximum winds of 65 kph near the center and gustiness of up to 80 kph. It is forecast to move west at 22 kph. It is expected to enter the PAR this afternoon and will be named "LANDO".

"LANDO" is expected to be at 990 km east of Luzon by tomorrow morning. By Friday morning, it is expected to be at 560 km east northeast of Baler, Aurora and at 310 km northeast of Baler, Aurora by Saturday morning. By Sunday morning, it is expected to be at 40 km north of Aparri, Cagayan and at 180 km northwest of Calayan Island, Cagayan by Monday morning.

The general public and disaster risk reduction and management councils concerned are advised to monitor for weather bulletin to be issued at 5:00 pm today or earlier.

Interesting track. That's what happens when frontal systems farther north complicates the forecast. Hopefully the tropical guys aren't pulling their hair. Many forecasters go bald quickly.

I have peers 10-15 years younger who are already bald.
