Ito paulan-ulan benefits my two aratelis seedling na katas ng either ipot ng ibon or paniki a month ago. Aratelis is not native to the philippines but aalagaan ko ito. Yung isa more than two feet and the other 3inches, so fragile pa...

Is that in Manila? Unfortunately, official high temperatures go by what the temperature sensor records at the official observing site. I would think it's RPLL at the airport.

Anyway, the gradient winds are still coming from the east which is a dry and hot flow. Land surfaces cool down quicker at night. That easterly flow will bring cooler air over warmer bodies of water, causing rainshowers/tstms overnight or very early in the morning. Cooler air over warmer = unstable. Once the land warms up, it'll be warmer air over cooler which is stable and allows for higher max temperatures and clear skies. Not good if you're in a city somewhere in western Luzon. A westerly flow brings in that moderating sea breeze although it'll be cloudier and rainier. That's the only relief.

It should be cooler and wet at the other side of Luzon.

The immediate coast will always be cooler because of the proximity to water. If you're sheltered from the (current easterly) gradient wind flow, then the winds will be dictated by temperature differential. Winds will be blowing offshore at night and onshore during the day.

Valleys have their own little weather systems which was a pain in the butt to forecast for. That's why knowledge of the terrain is very important in weather.

Those in the interior of Manila are probably sweltering during the day. I was lucky to have relatives who lived right by the shore over there. The afternoon sea breeze was refreshing.

It rained tonight in Taguig City/BGC around 630pm.

It's good that it stopped and the roads were not wet when we left for home around 745pm.

(But it was heavy traffic at the intersection of C5 and McKinley hill because of the road works)

I'm kinda happy to see the monsoon season making its way here. The car A/C always cooled better when there is a lot of humidity.
