in the olden days, newscasters would sit behind tables, where they can don shorts and other more comfortable attire.
nowadays, some stations prefer their newscasters standing up in full sartorial regalia.

Ok na ako tsikoteers sobra-sobra na ulan so nakuntento na ako because of the situation. Sabi ko hanggang december mapupuno. But its la nina season kaya mabilis talaga inunahan na ako ng universe. Ang bagal daw ng tancha ko.

BUT BUT BUT BUT....... its not enough. Angat is a small dam for the 12million overpopulated metro manila.

What I keep on saying. The government should bombard information about having a family is not a joke. And no more condominiums in metro manila And each house should have a plant area para pag may ulan meron dadaluyan pababa.

the most logical way, is to not build homes along the potential danger zone.
but this may not be politically and/or economically feasible.

    i am wondering,
    which came first,
    the dam, or the settlers?

    and i agree.
it is more dangerous to let the dam overflow. it might result in its collapse.

kaya napaisip ako ano ba sinasabi nilang nag release kaya bumaha, ibig sabihin wala spillway dam natin?

Today is sunny and bright but the havoc brought about by the storm will still linger on.

    ... and life goes on...

i am just so happy, that all we had to do was to sweep away the leaves and hang to dry the labada...
we just had our roof fixed, a few days before rolly. perfect timing, if i am asked.
    otherwise, maraming nabasa sa bahai...

Don't know much about dams but it seems common sense to release water a few days before the typhoon hits. So they don't have to release water or at least release less during the typhoon. Ang 3rd world talaga natin.

yes it's sunny but many people are only starting to recover from the damage

lahat ng tao whose 1st floor was flooded ngayon palang sila maglilinis

dagdag hirap coz mahina o walang tubig

Lol bro. Your pun reminds me of this likable guy in Haunting of Bly Manor.

Going back on topic, methinks better to have a bit less water than risk widespread flooding. And given the lack of water supply in NCR they really should have gone ahead with that weir the Japanese were proposing.

Sa tingin ko may science yan. Im sure may sinusundan sila protocols, and can't release water until they reach the spill way. Add to that, mga sand, and cement na na-drain na sa sewer because of condominium construction.

OT: pansinin niyo mga cement mixer trucks, after mag unload ng buhos, they just rinse everything down the sewer.

Add to that saturated pa ang soil so worst case talaga nangyari.

Wala yata masyadong kickback sa dredging kaya bihira gawin

... where the "silt" eventually cures and hardens to rock-hardness. such drainage sewers are thus effectively dredging-proof.

Kahit saan dinaanan ni uls bumaha, main reason is widespread deforestation. Instead siguro na ipamigay dapat i-reforest nalang back to unalienable land and bawal na apply for patent.
