They passed bills to fund other sectors of government but democrats rejected unless republicans cave in to full implementation.
Republicans passed bills to fund parts of the govt coz they're getting a lot of heat from the US public after letting the govt shut down

    damage control yan

they know they have become unpopular kaya nagpapabango

But the Democrats are stopping it to be funded. No Obama care no talks. That's their stand point.

    huh?

Obamacare is law na nga eh

    it has funding na

it has been rolled out na

kaya nga gusto ng Republicans putulin ang funding kasi may funding na

    you're confused

do you know what Obama doesnt wanna negotiate with Republicans about now?

    the debt ceiling

Obama wants the Republicans to pass a clean budget first before he will discuss the debt ceiling

if the Republicans don't pass a clean budget there will be no talks re the debt celing

kaya i said the shutdown wont just be a few days

    it's gonna be weeks

    pareho matigas both sides eh

aabot ito hanggang Oct 17 (the day the US Treasury says they run out of cash) or lampas pa

it has to take a major market meltdown to force both sides to act

Unfortunately, many in the tea party movement also believe that defaulting is not a big issue. A bunch of stupid blowhards have taken control of the Republican party and no reason or logic will convince them otherwise.

    Para maintindihan mo na.

You and I, we are part owners of a restaurant.

Every week, we agree on a marketing budget for food.

Last month, we argued over the purchase of an automated billboard for the front of the restaurant. An expense to be paid for out of the savings account (not the checking account used for marketing). This will cost a lot and impact the bottomline, and it will make for extra work for the employees, who have to type out the menu and promotions, clean it, etcetera. Some employees don't want it. Some like the idea.

You hated it. But at a meeting of partners you're outvoted three to one.

    -

You're still pissed. So you say that if we don't give up the billboard, you will not sign the checks for marketing. And all checks need the signatures of all partners.

You'll sign the checks if we sell the billboard. You'll sign the checks if we stop running the billboard, so the electricity cost won't add to our expenses. You'll sign the checks if we don't force employees to man the billboard teleprompter console.

The other partners do not agree. We've gone through the trouble of starting it, the bills have to be paid to the supplier, and the billboard is there. You don't fricking care. Your way or the highway.

Walang kinalaman ang billboard sa food budget. It doesn't come from the marketing fund. There's no reason to even talk about it when working out the week's marketing.

That's what the Tea Party is doing.

Don't get what you want, bring the whole thing burning down in blackmail.

    Get it now?

It's not whether they're right or wrong about Obamacare. I personally don't like compulsory insurance. People should be free to choose. It's about whether they're right to shut down the US Government and imperil the world economy just to get one concession they could work out themselves after winning the next election.

Very good analogy man. Well said. It makes the whole matter easy to understand.

heh, then prove me wrong. because so far all you've done is keep spouting the same argument without really acknowledging any thing we said. yeah, you quoted us in your posts, but your reply doesn't really address what we said in the first place.

i upper-cased my previous response just on the off chance that you'll finally recognize what people here are saying - that the budget is not the proper time and place to discuss the implementation of a law that was already passed. you seem to think the republicans are correct in questioning the implementation of obamacare at this point in time. if you don't like any law that was passed there is a proper procedure to repeal/reverse that law. the budget should just be about the budget. nothing more. nothing less.

I understand that it's a law. This is my opinion on the matter that there needs to be compromise. With niky's example, there should be compromise that both owner would agree on. It's irresponsible to say it's the presidents way or nothing.

If you don't agree with me, it's fine. BUT TELLING ME IM A TROLL BECAUSE I DONT AGREE WITH YOU, well...

Edit: with niky's example kasi pwede compromise on what the billboard would look like and it's function. In my opinion, it can be resolved as long as no one is saying na "yung gusto ko lang masusunod or continue tayo sa shut down".

Please don't be detoured by the topic. It's just personal na yung attack and I don't like that. Accept my humble apologies on the matter.

O ya, my apologies to roninblade na din. Please carry on with the topic.
