my sister had this and she's getting confined in the hospital every month for the last 4 months, how bad is this? can anybody reffer a good specialist for this? my friend had this too, and told me buko juice therapy may help..but we'd like to get a 2nd or maybe a 3rd opinion from a doctor..can anybody share what they know about U.T.I.?

I think a more thorough examination should be done by your doctor on the Urinalysis results..these results tell a lot of things (though not everything). Usually, there are pus cells and bacteria present.. the doctor usually requires a daily dose of antibiotics to treat the infection plus a constant supply of liquid to flush the them out...taking buko juice or cranberry juice is not bad..

Causes of Recuurent UTI:

1) Incomplete treatment. Before stopping antibiotics, a repeat urinalysis should be done to assure that infection is fully eradicated; if not yet, continue or shift to a stronger antibiotic.

2) Wrong choice of antibiotics. Best to do a culture and sensitivity exam to determine the culprit microorganism/bacteria.

3) For females, especially post normal delivery mothers, possible vesico-vaginal fistula ( urinary bladder - vaginal connection) from birth trauma. Needs surgical correction.

4) Poor fluid intake.

5) kidney stones. suggest to do an ultrasound of kidneys and urinary bladder

6) vaginitis. bacteria migrating from infected vagina to urinary tract.

Minsan papunta kami ng mga officemates ko sa Ortigas, nasa kotse kami. We were listening to Ernie Baron's radio program, he was discussing UTI with a phone-in caller. One of our companions also had UTI at the time, so nakikinig siya sa explanation ni Ka Ernie sa radyo. To the question of what causes UTI, Ka Ernie said, "Isa sa mga sanhi ng UTI eh yung latak na semilya sa sinapupunan."

Dinig na dinig sa buong sasakyan yun, at halos mamula na parang kamatis yung kasama naming may UTI, andun pa naman yung boyfriend niya. :D

avoid too much salt and sugar.

Agree, try this first. If symptoms persist, then consult a doctor - urologist.

i would suggest not to home medicate. bacterial infection kasi yan so kahit kaya ng immune system ng patient mas maganda kung nagpatingin ka pa din sa doctor. go to a urologist nalang agad para walang doubt at tanggal agad.


nicolai, meron talaga cases of recurring UTI sa females. ganun din kasi nangyari sa friend ko dati. kelangan lang siguro i-re-evaluat ng doctor nyo yung case ng sister mo.

UTI .nagkaroon ako dati niyan mabuti na lang nakuha sa medicine
parang Cotrimoxazole yata ang name ng meds..

lagi nga din pala masakit ang lower back ko noon ,at naranasan ko ma nginig as in super nginig kahit di naman malamig ang panahon ..
kalakasan daw ng infection non ,takaw ko din kasi sa softdrinks noon

ako dati my u.t.i every 3 mos.sumusumpong sumasakit ung likod ko tapos nagsusuka ako tapos yung bandang kanan ko para cyang may bukol and then my doctors told me to drink Noracin Tablet 7 tablets yta yun nka tatlo p lang ako wala n u.t.i ko,di ko lang alam sa Philippines kung meron nyan d2 sa Saudi meron,and also need prayers ito ang pinaka mabisa Bro.Sana maka2long ako..God bless
