1) Incomplete treatment. Before stopping antibiotics, a repeat urinalysis should be done to assure that infection is fully eradicated; if not yet, continue or shift to a stronger antibiotic.
2) Wrong choice of antibiotics. Best to do a culture and sensitivity exam to determine the culprit microorganism/bacteria.
3) For females, especially post normal delivery mothers, possible vesico-vaginal fistula ( urinary bladder - vaginal connection) from birth trauma. Needs surgical correction.
4) Poor fluid intake.
5) kidney stones. suggest to do an ultrasound of kidneys and urinary bladder
6) vaginitis. bacteria migrating from infected vagina to urinary tract.
