I think it's just the LC Prado cannibalizing sales of the Fortuner. Over there, I believe the Prado only costs about ~40% more than the Fortuner.

Meanwhile back here at home, the Prado costs ~80% more than the Fortuner. Insane!
They sure do. They probably feel that a Fortuner is not much of an upgrade from their Ute.
