Just want to share my experience:

Last Friday, I took the PAL's last flight from Cebu to Manila. It was scheduled to depart at 7:30 PM; but, there was delay and plane left at around 8:00 PM.

Our landing at the NAIA runway was rough. While taxiing, the plane made some decelerations and accelerations then stopped. The pilot announced to stay seated and belts fastened as we were still on the runway. The plane's steering was defective and we had to wait for a tow truck to tow the plane to the terminal. While wating for the tow truck, we noticed that the plane was surrounded by fire trucks and other emergency vehicles.

Then, we realized that we were already in danger of crash landing. Whew!!!! The passengers started to complain and speculate!

I just thanked God it's Friday and no crash landing occurred. I'm also commending the pilots for doing their best in avoiding an accident.

Buti at walang nangyaring masama sa inyo.

The PAL pilots are really one of the best pilots in the world, and yet they are very under paid.

What was the aircraft? A320 or A330?....Did they announce emergency landing procedure before the landing?

It was A320. No emergency announcement was made. We just realized about it when we noticed the emergency vehicles around the aircraft while waiting for the tow truck at the runway.

on the brighter side, landing in NAIA is alway rough regardless of carrier.

pati sa airport dito hindi patag ang semento

Glad to know you are ok, God is good and your angels were watching over you that day.

Flight ko bukas via PAL, hehehe ... sana grounded na muna yang airbus na yan :-)

Slightly OT: Most people say, if you will be in a plane crash it'll better be inside a Singapore Airlines because of their outstanding crisis management & post-crisis procedure (family counseling, insurance/fees, etc). I agree on this at some point. Yet each time I fly, I also hope that a Pinoy pilot is in charge.

It was rougher, then the plane decelerated and accelerated for some times and stopped. I could see the passengers in front of me shaking their heads. Then, everybody was surprised and wondering after seeing the emergency vehicles around the aircraft.

Probably, the pilots knew that the situation was under their controls. Hence, they didn't bother to announce it to the passengers to avoid panics. And, these emergency vehicles were there just in case.

I suspect it was the engine...they used the hydrualic brake on and off without the help of engine reverse thrust...kaya parang stop and go ang plane. TGIF nga na walang me nangyari.

They did good considering the PAF has no jet fighters or even any jets(?) to speak of, at least any in flyable condition.

Hahabol sana ako sa birthday party in Makati, had we arrived on time at around 8:45 PM. With the delays in our departure and in docking at NAIA terminal, 10 PM na akong nakalabas. Hence, I just decided to go home straight.

Magaling talaga ang mga pinoy pilots. Ever heard of that guy who steered a plane into japan on just engines? (no rudder -- damaged by a bomb).

Or that attendant who threw a hostage-taker out the door at 2000 feet yata yun?

Ako naman nakasakay sa PAL na yung MLA to SFO kinuha ng flying time na 2 hours less than scheduled kaya kahit late umalis, early kami dumating.

Minsan lang natakot me kasi yung B737 namin sa kalibo, ayaw pumihit nung landing gear pero mga 30 minutes tina-try nung pilot ipihit -- tipong igo-go pa kung maayos niya by brute force -- buti di naayos.

It's our preventive maintenance that needs more work, IMO.
