I think it is perfectly normal for as long as you know when to stop.

I do this most of the time when I am driving alone over long periods of time to keep me awake and alert. I also do this under extreme pressure so that I can properly assess the current situation and make the right decisions. I do this in private. Not near anyone.

When with my team,- I think aloud.

Better ask OB. He's the ultimate authority on schizophrenia, hehehe.

Seriously, I don't think there's anything wrong with it. The problem begins when "yourself" answers back, and begins to have a mind of its own...tee hee hee

I got no problem with it. I talk to myself a lot, although lately I've noticed I seem to do this less and less.

i talk to myself every time coz basically, i don't have anybody else to talk to

well, i think it's natural for people to talk to themselves even if you were thinking by yourself which is a virtual conversation. hence, it is natural because humans are social beings.
Damn, son! Where'd you find this?

Well, it's too late for me then...... Sometimes, I'm just like Gollum except with shop talk. He He

    A typical scene:
Me: Alright, there's cold air sinking down. So why isn't it windy?
Me: It's not windy because......na na na na na na na na Baaatmaaaan....... Ok it's because there's already warm air advection at the lower levels ahead of the next system....... He He He.

if you have heard of Steve Chandlers' "100 ways to motivate yourself" audio... kasama dun yung "talk to yourself". The inside thoughts are easier to comprehend when you hear it.

it is much like reading something aloud to yourself.
