i'm not into those religious and superstitious explanations of why Taal erupted

we live on a dynamic planet's surface... always changing... always moving...

lagi tayo makaka encounter ng geologic and atmospheric disturbances

what we humans do is adapt

kung meron mamatay, basta meron mag survive our species will continue... unless there's an event so catastrophic that no human can survive

in the grand scheme of things, anatomically modern humans have been on Earth for only 50,000 years

the Earth is 4.5 billion years old

for most of Earth's history it was unsuitable for human life... until only very recently conditions allowed humans to evolve

all that can change... conditions can deteriorate to a point where life becomes so difficult that we fight each other for survival and we reduce our population to a more sustainable level

this has nothing to do with supernatural forces

that's how i see things

While the water around the volcano pose a threat of a tsunami it also helps a lot in cooling the volcano to prevent the unthinkable

Let's just hope the volume of water in the lake is enough to overcome the heat underneath to calm down the volcano

It doesn't work that way, unfortunately.

Bodies of water around the volcano does not "cool" the eruption similar to pouring water on a bonfire.

When lava/magma interacts with a body of water it causes explosive eruptions. An extreme example here would be Krakatoa, which was a phreatomagmatic eruption (steam+magma).

Personally, I am worried because it's so close to the country's capital. Not sure if I read it in this thread, pero kung tatamaan pati buong metro manila, 25% of the whole country's population will be affected. Monday nga ashfall pa lang sarado na mga bangko at PSE.

Taal is just roughly 60km from Manila.

I second the motion. Wag masyado magkalat ng katatakutan na galing lang sa imagination. Yung term kasi na ginagamit is "sasabog" kaya maraming natatakot. Ilang beses na in my lifetime na may eruption ang Mayon, bata pa ko nuon. Yang ulan ng abo at putik naranasan na namin yan, nasira mga bubong ng mga bahay, mga halaman natabunan. Parehas lang ng experience sa Taal. Wala pa coverage ng tv at social media nuon.

Many are overanalyzing what may possibly happen. Dinadagdagan pa ng speculation ng mga di naman experto/unqualified individuals.

Yes, malaking pinsala ang pwede mangyari, pero while its a good thing to seek information (from reputable sources) para you can prepare and make smart decisions, yung iba naman diyan, tinatakot sobra ang sarili at ang mga ibang mga gullible na tao.

You Sir are one in a million, you live far from taal, you have money to hire people to clean up in case of ashfall, you even have money to easily relocate in case your residence is destroyed, this of course is my impression of you based in your posts. [emoji75]
