    From a friend's FB Page...

Erap recently increased realty taxes 200% in some cases...

For the past years it has always been a problem for us with regards to the vendors. Sad to say, We store owners paid so much money for permits and licenses and yet the benefits goes to the sidewalk vendors. What's happening to Manila? Calling the attention of Mayor Erap & Vice Mayor Isko Moreno. This is particularly in Evangelista street bgy 307 Quiapo. Salamat!

If the Manila government clears all the illegal stores along the streets and side walks, I think that will cure the traffic problem by 50% (in that part of the metropolis).

in fairness clear pa din ang recto (divisoria area) during the day ha.

    still i hate erap!

walang choice mga manilenyo. Last election blank vote ko sa mayor.

The streets may be clear, but the side walks are not. Stroll around the area of Quiapo, and you will know what I mean. Some vendors are literally "living" on the sidewalk. Pedestrians have no other recourse but to walk on the street.

It's no surprise why some foreign people label Manila as "one-big-shantytown". Because by the looks of it, its true!

Most if not all of the beautification and present new infrastructure are being funded by private individuals/entities.

Erap and the entire Estradas are the biggest joke in this country's politics and you guys are still wondering why these things are happening.

Kasalanan yan ni Cory. If she did not removed Erap with her OIC in San Juan, baka ngayon eh mayor pa rin ng San Juan yan. Nawalan ng pwesto as mayor, nakahakot ng mga squatter sa San Juan at nagprotesta sa Malacanang, from there he recognize meron pala cyang nauulol, ayun naisipan tumakbo ng senador, panalo agad. The only senator to win from the opposition against a sweeping pro Cory line-up. From there, the rest is history.

Marcos era pa yan, magulo at madumi na ang Manila. IIRC, it started deteriorating late 60's or early 70's. Up to now!

Don't get me wrong. I fought Marcos during martial law and one of those early birds during the first night of EDSA 1. In the forefront of all those rallys after Ninoys death. But looking back what went wrong, 28 yrs later, i saw all the mistakes done and abused. This is not the kind of goverment that i had fought for. We fought Marcos then because of corruption, 28 yrs later we're still deep into that ****. Yes, the cronies are gone only to be replaced by the kamag-anak and the KKK on top of new brand of political crooks in all places of goverment.

Went down to Quiapo a few months ago. Somebody is literally raising a pig on the bangketa.

i had the misfortune of walking through the Recto/Reina Regente intersection last Christmas, bitbit pa ng mga cake na pasalubong. Lost my patience and started shoving people. Happy(?) Holidays!
