Over-priced milk tea in short SC milktea.

Ersao and Quickly yung nauna sa Pinas. Milktea drinker since mid-90s. From 25 petots to 60 petots na ngayon ang milk tea sa Ersao + Spicy Squid. Taena na yan mga SC. Pati favorite drink ko tumaas na presyo dahil sa kanila.

Ngayon nag-kalat na ang milk tea sa lahat ng kanto ng Banawe.

Hmmm...ang alam ko DEC dun sa kumang greenhills mall ung nauna sa mga ganyang drinks na me sago, taro, etc.... although wala atang tea ung drinks nya. Ahead of its time imho, kung kelan pa nauso e tsaka pa sila medyo nag lie low.

Hirap lang kasi minsan maiisipan ka na SC ka agad porket bumili ka ng mamahalin. Sa iba kasi lifestyle na yun. Ngayon doon makikita ang cultural difference ng mga tao or just plain jealousy.

it's about keeping up with people around you

the pressure is on people who can't stand being left behind

not everyone's income is rising at the same time but everyone seems to be moving up at the same time

so there are definitely those who are living beyond their means

hehe tama! though just like my dad used to say "kung hindi kayang bilhin, huwag bilhin". I'm sure kahit tumaas pa presyo ng gas, siguradong sigurado magpapagas parin lahat. Though people who are budget conscious will opt to commuting.

people who want to maintain image will still drive their cars so they'll cut down on things that people don't see

like food

or delay paying rent

kaya there's intense pressure to chase money

it's money money money

everyone's competing with each other

you can't stand still on a moving treadmill. you have to keep running to stay in place

that's why people who already have a lot of money still have to keep making money coz their peers don't stop making money

when your peers are spending a cool million on anti aging treatments abroad you also wanna afford that

the cost of living will keep rising so nobody should stop running and say i have enough. it's never enough

I don't know about the rest of you...

But I like how these so called SCs help the consumption economy a lot. I don't care if they spend beyond their means as long as they spend. Somehow that helps the economy. Actually... it really helps the economy. And there are other people who are NOT SCs who benefit from that money going around.

So the more SCs there are the better for me. Hehe. Mabuhay any SC! Keep dreaming and keep spending. One day you will work hard to fund your habit and one day you will break thru and succeed . Gotta love capitalism.
